For the first day back in the war, I thought he made a pretty good effort.

Kessel looked like Blake, except much, much better. He was robbed on a couple of shots, and there were times where Blake or Stajan wiffed on good feeds from him. I think as they get used to playing together that that line will start to produce.
Actually, BLAKE looked better last night than he usually does, I noticed he was actually passing the puck instead of wasting shots from the the side boards like he has a habit of doing.
Stajan was handed a few good chances by Kessel as well, but he just wiffed on them. And he's winning tons of faceoffs this year too.
Kessel looked good in his first game.
Don't forget, we're talking about a guy that was being compared to Crosby back in the world Juniors. He's shown that he can produce at every level he's played so far. So I think this is going to turn out well for the Leafs. |

And even that one game showed Blake is NOWHERE near as explosive and dangerous as Kessel. |

I'm not falling for the Kessel Hype yet....to me he is still an unknown....one good year does not make a player...hell even his good year wasn't a point per game year.
Toronto gave up too much for him....he is a first line winger on a team of third line players. |

i agree, but what were they gonna do with those picks, sit on them? might as well offload again for some picks when the seasons done.
