Nash is a franchise player....no team gives up a franchise player for that. Look what Toronto traded for Kessel. You are going to give up at least that and more for Nash.

So Burke has stated he had offers for Reimer but turned them down and he says he wouldn't be surprised if the leafs don't do anything. I don't know how Burke cannot do anything....he needs to get his head out of his ass and realize that its time for the leafs to do something to show they are actually interested in making the playoffs.
Keith Aulie gone to Tampa for Carter Ashton. Not a bad trade but it seems more like a trade for the future not a trade for the right now.

I dont think there were many options to begin with. Which in turn ended up as a dead day or month for the team.
There weren't very many big trades today anyway. All the re-signings and long term signings eat up the availability out there

I don't understand Burke...He says he doesn't want to trade away the talent he has collected that is sitting in the minors and he doesn't want to trade away the players on the team because they deserve a chance to take it to the playoffs. You build talent so you have something you can trade when you get to a position like this. The team he has put together is in 9th place....they don't deserve a chance to go the distance because the distance with this bunch is another early tee time.

I agree though, I expected a notable trade at the deadline but Burke couldn't pull the trigger, so he's backpedaling. If they start getting a few good breaks I think they'll limp into the playoffs, but they're far from a contender.
