No, you are probably right but showing such disrespect to McCabe because he scored on his own net in a game that made no difference in the end seems kinda pathetic.

Fans should boo Sundin for screwing them out of some good draft picks...and yes I understand he had a no trade clause and he had every right to enforce it.

finally the leafs scored a shorthanded goal. good effort by blake.

with my tv gone from my room, i'm really enjoying watching the leafs online which usually have the local feed from the opponents home town.

Leafs Acquire Brad May From Ducks Toronto Maple Leafs Jan 7, 2009, 12:33 PM EST Brian Burke, president and general manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs, announced Wednesday that the hockey club has acquired forward Brad May from the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for a conditional sixth round draft pick in 2010.

“Brad will provide character, toughness, and he is a proven winner,” said Burke. “We look forward to the veteran leadership that he will give our team.”

May, 37, was a member of the 2007 Stanley Cup champion Anaheim Ducks. This season he has played in 20 games for Anaheim collecting five assists with 28 penalty minutes and has registered a plus five (+5 ) rating.

In 963 career NHL games with Buffalo, Vancouver, Phoenix, Colorado and Anaheim, May has recorded 285 points on 126 goals and 159 assists, along with 2,121 penalty minutes.

Burke likes the tough guys!

I don't think its a bad move.

he makes $600K which is nothing and we still have a lot of room in our cap, and it adds some toughness for the mean time.

Plus he's a Toronto Native which i'm sure he's happy about.

I would have been excited for this signing...10 years ago.

+1

This signing really does nothing for the future....he's 37 years old...so what...he has another year in him at best. I know its only a 6th round pick they are giving up but Toronto shouldn't be making any trades that involve them throwing a pick away....even a 6th round pick.

So Kaberle has stated he is open to being traded if he is not in the future plans of the club. Kaberle is definately a hot commodity.....a very good puck moving defenceman who can captain the powerplay for any team. I could see Pittsburgh and New Jersey being interested in him. Leafs would definately get a first rounder and probably a second line forward for him.
