yeah he said that but he backtracked..like most athletes do....and said that he didn't want to leave Toronto in the middle of season and that he didn't want to win a stanley cup as a rental player....which....if he signs a one year deal with any team is exactly what he is.

hmmm, confused is he? haha :p
Well as sad as it is, he isn't gonna win a damn cup with the Leafs anytime soon so he should just go somewhere else if he really wants to win one. I don't think he would get picked up by a team who is going to win the cup this coming season, but that is just my opinion.

Well....I must say I am the happiest leaf fan in leafland today....Darcy "Big Mouth" Tucker is gone.
The Ear
I'll be even happier if no other NHL team picks him up. The guy's a **** in every way.

Colaiacovo Kaberle
Kubina McCabe
Stralman White

Goalies
Toskala
Poggee

Captain - Kaberle

I'm glad Tucker is gone. The only thing that sucks is that it's going to count against cap for about 6yrs! Tucker was absolutely crap last year and didn't look like he was improving.

You missed Nikolia Kulemin (comming to the team from Russia) and Jamal Mayers
Pohl is gone. Leafs already informed his agent that they won't be resigning him... was in the papers in May.
Still doubting Williams will be on the team.
... And who is this "Ear" guy?

It will be $1 mill a year against the cap for the next 6 years.

Sorry....Ear is actually Earl.

No matter how you look at it.....the team will be absolute crap....which is actually a good thing. The leafs may pick up a free agent or two but I wouldn't anticipate anything big....I don't think a Hossa or Redden will be on their way to Toronto.
Dave Akermanis
Canucks picked up Wellwood already..

haha... thought you meant Earl.

Yeah they're going to be crap again this year. They need a lot of work. I think the defence issue will be sorted out in a couple of years, I think Luke Schenn was a good pick for the leafs, now we just need some better forwards.
I agree not to anticipate much for free agency. Not a lot to choose from this year. I wouldn't sign Hossa(wants to much $$) or Redden (under-acheiver) either. Hossa turned down 7 mil from the Pens when he's not even worth 7 mil. I would sign Hossa for 5.5mil tops. Hopefully we can get a good draft pick again next year.

They can have him. I think he was over-rated. It was pretty bad watching him play last year. He would try to do something only to screw it up and lose it 2 seconds later, he isn't tough enough for the NHL and doesn't work hard enough during the off-season.

He definately had a bad season because of injuries but, he is still young and can bounce-back. Re: his work during the off-season I don't know enough about him to comment.

Either way, nice to see that Fletcher is keeping to his word. I bet we'll see McCabe gone before too long as well.
