Burke will not trade Kessel.....he will never admit how big a failure this trade was. Wilson will go before Kessel.
Kessel is a cancer and should be removed but it just won't happen. |
Totally agree. I cant see Burke trading Kessel, the leaf fans would want his head if he traded. I dont put the blame directly on Wilson tho. He hasnt been given much to work with but good coaches should be able to motivate his players.
It will be an interesting few weeks leading up to the trade deadline. |

Its hard for a player to get motivated when the coach keeps throwing players under the bus, although the players do deserve to be thrown under the bus.
I just don't think Phil can deal with being under the scrutiny of Toronto Fans and Media. He is not a player you build a team around...he is a missing piece you plug into an already good team. Personally, I think Burke should trade him. Kessel would fit in well with LA and I think you could get a first rounder for him. |

There would be less problem if you didn't view Kessel as the franchise player, nor blame him for what he cost you guys. That is all on Burke. Phil Kessel is a good line mate for a superstar, he isn't one himself.
Look how we got stuck with Gomez. Same thing...he gets 8 million a year and everyone gives him grief, myself included because he really sucks. The reality is all he did was accept that sum, we didn't have to take it. |

I agree with you to some extent...issues regarding the trade for Kessel fall firmly on Burke however; Kessel's performance falls completely on him.
He refuses to back check and is a defensive liability, he refuses to be hit or hit anyone, he continues to do the same thing over and over again with the same result...nothing. The only time you notice him on the ice is when the game is no longer meaningful. He goes down the ice and takes a simple wrist shot from the top of the circle and then he sulks the rest of the game because he didn't score.
If I was Wilson the first thing I would tell Kessel is if he shoots from the top of the circle he is benched. |

Kessel is playing with ty players. I know Leafs Nation was happy with the off season acquisitions, but lets not put lipstick on pigs here...The Leafs do not have the type of player Kessel needs to feed him. I'm in no ways saying he is anywhere near Brett Hull's caliber...but Hull was a one dimensional player that we would have never heard of if he hadn't played with the Adam Oates' and Mike Modano's of this world.
Kessel is an Owen Nolan without the bite. |

Damaged goods. We can give them Komisarek for him. That's a fair trade. |

| at 5 million dollars no one would take komisarek...i'm sure you guys are stuck with him for the duration of his silly contract. |

its not his fault that the team lacks any direction or players that can play at this level successfully.
