we drafted them 5 years ago and we run them like a franchise.

salary caps, farm teams, free agency, drafts, trades, the works.

as close as you can get to being a real gm as possible.

"our" team. (share it with a buddy.)

it is a simulated pool though...so all of the games are simulated against each other.

Trade deadline is when leaf fans get excited now.

Just after I finish reading the medical documentation that confirms Burke isn't retarded he goes and does this.

+ What are these?

Many of general manager Brian Burke’s intriguing off-season acquisitions will be on display when the Maple Leaf rookie camp/tournament begins this Saturday in London, Ont.

German forward Marcel Mueller, Norwegian draft pick Sondre Olden, U.S. national Jerry D’Amigo, newly-signed German defender Korbinian Holzer and Finnish goalie Jussi Rynnas will be among 28 players partaking in the four-team event with rookies from Chicago, Pittsburgh and Ottawa.

Toronto is also giving an opportunity to former Erie Otter Mike Liambas of Woodbridge, whose controversial hit on Kitchener's Ben Fanelli gave him skull and facial fractures. Liambas played in the minors last year.

Hometown star and 2009 No. 1 pick Nazem Kadri will be the most scrutinized player, but he’ also a lock to go on to the main camp next week. With a lack of scoring up front, the scouts are going to be grading players such Muller, D’Amigo, Brayden Irwin and this year’s top pick Brad Ross for possible main camp auditions. The tournament roster:

Forwards

Sam Carrick, Andrew Crescenzi, Jery D’Amigo, Jamie Devane, Brayden Irwin, Nazem Kadri, Mike Liambas, Greg McKegg, Dale Mitchell, Marcel Mueller, Josh Nicholls, Sondre Olden, Brad Ross, Kenny Ryan, Mikhail Stefanovich

Defence

Keith Aulie, Jesse Blacker, Erik Burgdoerfer, Dave Cowan, Marc-Andre Dorion, Simon Gysbers, Korbinian Holzer, Dallas Jackson, Drew Paris, Barron Smith

Goal

Andrew Engelage, Jussi Rynnas, Ben Scrivens.

Seriously...I guess if you can't beat them with skill you might as well see if you can hurt enough players that you make the playoffs by default.

What a in' idiot

meh...the hit he put on that kid was not that bad and the suspension was way too high.

happens.

burke is trying to go broad street bullies, it has become pretty obvious.

the problem with this is that you guys have one of the worst pk units in the league.

the broad street bullies at least had hockey talent

Burke started digging his grave when he did the Kessel deal and it seems everything since then is just another shovel of dirt from the hole.

MSZ
will enjoy watching mtl get smashed(maybe not in wins), at least they suck pretty hard. halak was pro.

ffs, start already season.

Cammalleri - Plekanec - Kosyn
Pouliot - Gomez - Gionta
Darche/Pyatt - Eller - Lapierre
Moen - Halpern - Boyd

+

Markov/Hamerlik
Subban /Georges/Spacek
Gill/O'Byrne/Webber/Picard

Price
Auld (ewwww)

this looks like a team that makes the playoffs to me....but then again you guys don't know what that looks like:p

We finally have a top shelf shutdown line (moen/halpern/boyd) and i am predicting good things from eller. Everything i have seen about this kid makes me think he will get at least 15 goals in his first year. Not to mention that the habs farm team is very strong, so we actually will have young guns pushing the established guys for a spot...unlike in toronto, where they make them first line centers:p

Pleks won't have to kill penalties anymore, so he will score on you even more than last year:p
