Info on the deal with kaberle..Blake Wheeler and Boston's #1 for Kaberle...
Dior Homme
Its official.

KABERLE to BOSTON

Tomas Kaberle's time as a Toronto Maple Leaf has finally come to an end. After 12 seasons in blue and white, the Maple Leafs have traded the veteran defenceman to the Boston Bruins in exchange for prospect centre Joe Colborne, the Bruins' first round pick in 2011 and a conditional draft pick.

The trade call still has to go through the league to confirm it.

Kaberle, 32, has been a mainstay on the Leafs' blue line for the past decade and is the second-highest scoring defenceman in team history behind Borje Salming - with 83 goals and 437 assists in 878 games. Kaberle led the Leafs in assists this season with 35.

While the Leafs haven't made the playoffs since the 2003-04 season, Kaberle has played in 77 career post-season games.

The Bruins will be on the hook for the remainder of Kaberle's $4.25 million contract. He will be an unrestricted free agent in the summer.

Not a bad deal at all IMO. Kaberle will be missed short term of course, but Joe Colborne is a solid first round prospect who could develop nicely, and we'll get a late first rounder this year as well, plus free up some cap space....

Starting to warm up to Burke just a little bit....

I was hoping for wheeler to come over to Toronto....I really like wheeler.

Edit: Wheeler is a Thrasher

With defenceman Tomas Kaberle in the fold, the Boston Bruins made another big deal sending forward Blake Wheeler and defenceman Mark Stuart to the Atlanta Thrashers in exchange for centre Rich Peverley and defenceman Boris Valabik.

In his third season in the NHL, Wheeler has 11 goals and 15 assists with a plus-8 rating through 58 games. He recorded a goal and four assists in his last seven games for the B's.

Drafted by the Phoenix Coyotes in the first round (5th overall) of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, the Robbinsdale, Minnesota, native signed a one-year deal with the Bruins last July and becomes a restricted free agent this

this is a great trade no matter how you look at it for the leafs....i was just hoping that the b's would give up a roster guy.

Colborne is a big center with skill, and a great prospect. I've been following him as i drafted him to my fantasy team last year and he is doing well on my farm team.

Our season is over Chem, you should be happy:p

I take little joy in seeing the Habs not make the playoffs. If they could only beat Edmonton in Edmonton once in awhile....Edmonton is to the Habs what Buffalo is to Toronto.

now we can move on with our leaf lives.

Don't be too sure about that....heard rumors of Spezza making the trip to Toronto.
