Well....the trade deadline is over and Fletcher did what he could...or did he????
I don't think he did enough to change things up....basically he removed a 4th liner, a bench warmer and a fourth or fifth defenceman for 4 draft picks....overall I would think they were good deals for the leafs but I still think he could have done more.
The core group of leafs are still leafs.....change needs to be done...and hopefully in the off season greater change will be made. The leafs need to loose at least 4 of their top 9 forwards....and only Tucker has a no-trade clause. Fletcher says the team will look dramatically different next year. |

i think he did the best he could yesterday. the man is tied up in a straight jacket. cant do much when you got high salaries and no trades. and imo i dont think its such a bad thing to get rid of a bench warmer, d-man and 4th liner cuz now u can just bring up some more marlies.
did u watch his press conference yesterday??? he looked pretty pissed off that kubina waived his no-trade last minute. i think san jose was really interested until they picked up campbell. |

I think Fletcher did as much as he could've. Got rid of our deadweight and freed up 2.8M for next years cap.
We still got some guys that we need to unload I think.
Here are next years salaries:
McCabe - $6.150M
Kubina - $5.000M
Blake - $4.500M
Kaberle - $4.250M
Toskala - $4.000M
Bell - $2.500M
Ponikarovsky - $2.240M
Raycroft - $2.200M
Antropov - $2.150M
Steen - $1.700M
Colaiacovo - $1.400M
If you look at the top 3 players, NONE of them played anywhere near their potential...$15.6M is just wasting away there... |

yeah, i looked kinda bad.
During the game they said it was a level 1 MCL injury. No surgery required, but might be out a few weeks haha. |

great comeback but I think the leafs are doing more to screw themselves then anything else. The leafs should be playing their young guns instead of trying to make a final playoff run. |
