What do you think the Leafs need to work on most before the start of the season?
Penalty Killing
Power Play
Defensive Zone Coverage
Break Out

power play and break out.

we have a sizeable defence, especially if Belak and Kromwall are the 5th and 6th guys...so penalty killing and defensive zone covereage should be decent.

I think (hope) the power play will click when everyone gels and is healthy...we've got some big shots on the team and some big guys who can crowd the net. playing guys at their position on the power play, imagine a crazy power play with Sundin and Lindros hovering around the net, someone else quick to race back if we lose the puck, and with McCabe and O'Neill manning the points...BOOYAH! :D

break out...we need to get used to the new rules eliminating the red line for two line passes...and we don't have enough fast skaters on the team...Leafs have more size than speed, especially with Marchment released (though I agree with that move, as much as I liked him).

Yep Marchment is released and rumor has it that Stumpy Thomas may not be far behind.

I agree with getting rid of stumpy. We have enough older talent to bring the young guys along....let wellwood have a shot...this kid impresses me and he has got someone burning a fire under his ass.

Ed Belfour stopped 35 Detroit shots and Sundin, O'Neill, Stajan and Colaiacovo all found the twine in a 4-3 Toronto road win Friday night.

Toronto ended its preseason schedule with a 4-1 victory over the Detroit Red Wings. Jason Allison and Eric Lindros tested their minor injuries and looked smooth during plenty of ice time. The team now has time to prep for Wednesday night's home opener against the Senators

So it all starts tonight. I am too excited to sleep :D

I washed my Jersey last night...it hasn't been worn since they last played. It is laid out on the couch infront of the TV. I have my desk decorated with leaf items and I am ready to go. when I get home tonight I will be starting my NHL 06 season against the Ottawa Senators on the PS2.
