Antoine Vermette to Ottawa for Pascal Leclaire and a second round pick to Blue Jackets
That's it.....Brian Burke has come out and said Moore and Antropov will be traded today. |

Yeah, but now that Columbus took Vermette (, did Ottawa ever the bed on that one) that cuts off Antropov.. This really puts a fire under Burke's ass.
Also: Jokinen will get dealt to Calgary, but considering he's never gone to the post-season he's about as solid as a soup sandwich.. My money's on Cammalleri heading south. |

| I can see Antropov going to Pittsburgh.....but the Vermette deal gives us an idea of what Antropov is worth. The leafs can expect a 2nd round pick and either a prospect or a 3rd liner. |

Everything I've been hearing tells me that Burke is desperately seeking a first round pick but after the Vermette trade - you're absolutely right.. Pittsburgh (or Boston?) seems likely. |

Martin Gerber to Toronto off of Re-Entry Waivers, Stapleton to the Minors.
What in the is Burke doing.. Gerber isn't the second-string type..

The leafs need a back-up...as Jospeh is done. Considering they only have to pay 50% of the salary....its not all that bad. It may free Toskala up for trading or resting him for the rest of the season. |

Apparently Toskala's headed in for surgery soon, so it makes sense to shift between Gerber & Pogge for the remainder (what, 20 games) of the season.
Interestingly enough the Jokinen deal went, but it was for Lombardi & Prust and not Cammalleri. Not a good move IMO, Prust is a great young talent (and a London boy, whoop whoop)..
I'm still waiting for Toronto to make a move that indicates some level of faith in making the post-season.. It's not unrealistic. |
