I can see Kaberle going to Dallas for a Ribeiro. Or to Boston for Savard. I also don't think anyone in their right minds would want to trade for Finger as a 7th defenceman with a 3.5M cap hit is useless. He'll probably end up in the minors with Jonas Frogren. But then again, I thought that nobody would want to take Toskala or Blake's ty contracts either. It's possible right now that Schenn gets traded if the return is high enough (Bobby Ryan?). Apparently Burke's got some offers on the table for Schenn.

I still think we need two solid forward additions to make this team competitive. Versteeg is definitely an upgrade on Stalberg as he is a more complete player, but by no means is he a 1st line winger. Kadri could very well play in the NHL this year, but I think he would benefit more from a year of AHL with brief stints in the big league. I also think Grabovski it a bum.

The Toronto Maple Leafs signed a trio of players on Thursday, including unrestricted free agent forwards Mike Zigomanis and Joey Crabb, along with defenceman Danny Richmond.

Each of the three players spent time in the American Hockey League last season.

"These players add significant depth to our organization," said Dave Poulin, vice president of hockey operations, in a press release. "They all have experience at the NHL level and will provide strong leadership for our young prospects."

Zigomanis is a veteran of 189 NHL games, and split his time last season between the Toronto Marlies (AHL) and Djurgardens of the Swedish Elite League. The 29-year old has spent time in the NHL with Carolina, St. Louis, Phoenix, and Pittsburgh.

Crabb, 27, had 24 goals and 29 assists with the Chicago Wolves (AHL) last year. He has played 29 NHL games with the Atlanta Thrashers.

Richmond split his time in 2009-10 in the AHL with Peoria and Rockford. The 25-year old has 49 games of NHL experience with Carolina and Chicago.

I'm not quite sure what Burke is doing with signing these kinds of players....sure it gives depth but only at the third and fourth line level....he needs to focus on first and second liners

Dude, you really aren't that bright.

They are strictly AHL signings.

They are by far not just AHL signings. They are all players that will fight for third and fourth line position with the Leafs....except Richmond...he doesn't stand a chance at making top 6 D.

Free agent season is boring now. I'm deleting my bookmark until september. At least that way I will be surprised.

you guys should sign tiger woods...at least then you can win on the golf course.

you guys have another 2 years at least before it is warmer by the time_you start golfing.

Expect all 3 to start the yr in the minors as AHL depth, who might be called up in case of injury. Maybe 1 of them win a camp battle for 7th D or 14th forward, however none of them slot into the current lineup automatically. There is Chritian Hanson still to be signed and other guys on the farm they will battle with.

With the horrific Lebda signing, Toronto now has 8 NHL D before these 3 signings.

Below is a post Kaberle trade & Finger waived roster projection from http://www.pensionplanpuppets.com/2...ng-in-the-holes. I would pencil in Kadri up there and whoever we get in a trade for Kaberle or sign via UFA in the 1st line LW slot.

UFA/Trade Bozak Kessel
Kulemin Grabovski Versteeg
Sjostrom Kadri Armstrong
Brown Mitchell Orr
AHL body Caputi

Phaneuf Komisarek
Beauchemin Schenn
Gunnarsson Lebda
AHL body

Gustavsson
Giguere
