I Agree with them.
They gave up their #1 Draft from last year and #1 pick for next year.
If they don't win the cup this year, then they might be screwed.
There's not way they can afford Crosby, Malkin (who's got 1 year left after next year) and Hossa. |
Totally.
HAHA JF Jr likes the deal. That pretty much sums it up! |

| You know what would be hilarious??? Hossa scoring against MTL in a Game 7 overtime for the Eastern Conference. :D |

It's better golfing in April then losing in the first round in May... |

then that works well for leafs fans since they are in no danger of losing in the first round for at least another 3 years while upping their golf game!
:p |

Their No. 1 picks are going to be low first rounders and really after the first five or six picks it becomes a crap shoot....so the draft picks are really nothing.
Other then that pittsburg looses a couple lifetime third liners and a young prospect is Espisito who IMO won't pan out to be anything better then a third liner.
I think Pittsburg has made a good deal here and I think they have taken the fire out of Montreal and Ottawa with this trade. |

All i'm saying is that Hossa won't last, maybe next year, and thats it.
Just think about these salaries:
Crosby: $9.00 Million for 2008-2009
Hossa: $7.00 Million for 2007-2008 (UFA)
Malkin: 984,000 for 2008-2009 (RFA) in 2009-2010
Malkin will be probably be asking for $10M for his contract negotiation.
There is NO room at all for Hossa at the end of this year on Pittsburgh.
Not to mention Gonchar makes $6.0 MIllion next year. |
