Montreal Canadiens defeated Toronto 3-2

Four goals in the first period gave the Ottawa Senators enough breathing room to coast to a 7-4 victory Sunday night at the Corel Centre

i am now feeling bad for the goalies a bit.

they are no longer the key player.

it's hard to get used to them letting goals in left right and centre.

i think it's also a real downer for their ego.

I feel for them too but this is what the american audience wants. They want a lot of goals and making the goalies job harder is the easiest way of doing it. I do think the goalie equipment has gotten out of hand and I am glad they have reduced the size of the equipment.

People complain that the game is boring now...and sometimes I agree with that. The real problem is the league is too watered down with subpar talent. The only real way to better the game is reduce the number of teams.

Or move some to Canada.

Wow, Tellqvist. There goes your back-up job

^^^ Tellqvist wouldn't be backing up this year anyway. They are grooming Telly to take over the starting job when Belfore leaves. Since goalies mature at a slower pace then other players the only way to get them ready for the NHL is to have them start in the AHL. Bringing a good prospect 'tender up to the bigs and sitting him on the bench is nothing more then a waste of talent because he won't get enough ice time to grow into a viable starter. The worst thing that could happen to Tellqvist would be to back up Belfore.

The Sabres scored four powerplay goals on their way to a 5-2 victory over the Leafs, Tuesday night at Air Canada Centre. Toronto was 1-for-8 with the man advantage. Chad Kilger and Mariuz Czerkawski tallied in a losing cause. Tie Domi scored to win the shootout in sudden death

When's the last time Leafs had a good goalie come up through its farm system? Potvin?

Why does this Tuuka Rask kid remind me of Turk Broda? :D

A goalie typically won't reach full potential until approximately 30 years of age. He will be the started in two years.
