let kubina stay for another year. last year he was injured and didnt play to his full potential. if he craps out this year while being healthy, let him go.

Looks like good trade on paper. Toskala is more consistent than Nabokov though I think less flashy. He should do well to mentor Raycroft who is still learning the game.

Though I cringe whenever the Leafs trade a first round pick for a player. Remember Dmitri Yushkevich fiasco 10yrs ago? :p

i agree that Kubina didnt play to his full potential last season but there is really no need to have $15 million between 3 players on D. and there's no gettin rid of kaberle and mccabe cuz of the no-trade.

as for mentoring Raycroft, who cares. id get rid of him too. b4 all of this there were rumours bout CUJO comin back. id still take a 41 year old over him. Raycroft was just a one hit wonder imo.

im not sayin to get rid of Kaberle. but between the 3 its %15 million. the only one with a no trade clause is Kubina. so i think he'd be the one to trade for a draft pick or two.

Rumor has it they are shopping McCabe.....with the no movement contract it would be hard....but most players want out once they know they aren't wanted anymore.

Bell Placed in NHL/NHLPA Substance Abuse Program Sep 4, 2007, 3:21 PM EDT
Bell September 4, 2007

(NEW YORK/TORONTO) -- The National Hockey League and National Hockey League Players’ Association announced today that Toronto Maple Leafs forward Mark Bell has been placed in Stage 2 of the Substance Abuse & Behavioral Health program of the NHLPA and the NHL.

Per the terms of the SABH program, a player who is convicted of a controlled-substance offence (including under a plea arrangement or similar procedure), is assessed by the program doctors and staged appropriately.

Bell recently pleaded no contest in California to charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and hit-and-run.

By reason of his Stage 2 placement, Bell is suspended without pay until reinstated for on-ice competition by the program doctors after consultation with the NHL and NHLPA. The program doctors will make a clinical determination as to the training camp activities in which Bell may be allowed to participate.

The program’s doctors, Dr. Brian Shaw on behalf of the NHLPA and Dr. Dave Lewis on behalf of the NHL, are administering Bell’s care.

the new jersey.

it's good that they didn't change a lot about the logo. the absence of the strips make the player look a bit taller as well. and the marlies uniform is nice as well.

I wish they went to white pants.....then they could blind the other team with all that white.
