I can't believe how surprisingly decent we look so far this year. First time in a while.
MSZ
to be fair the last few games they've played against teams that were in their slumps. this next month is the real test.

i heard a stat of theyre +11 5 on 5, thats pretty crazy. i think theyre +13 now lol. the big wtf moment with me, is ottawa.
LightsOut
Yeah Ottawa was a big let down. Apparently we've scored first every time we've lost to, which is a little odd. I'm just glad to have something positive to say about the team, its been a while lol

We are currently 1st in the league while the pens play the sharks. its really weird seeing them at the top, but this month will be quite tough as the first month have been teams that are currently struggling.

if we keep this off we'll be in good shape for the christmas break. boston once again will be a tough game. i cant believe we lost to them and philly while they both got blown out by hurting teams right after we played them.

Maple Leafs for sale?
LightsOut
Haven't they been for sale for the last 8 months or so?

What's this I hear about an American buyer? No way this can happen.

Edit: From SportsNet

BLUE & WHITE ... AND RED?

U.S. investment company Providence Equity Partners is interested in purchasing Maple Leafs Sports & Entertainment.

According to a report from the Toronto Star the company has inquired about purchasing the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan's stake in MLSE.

Nine months ago the Teachers' announced it was selling its 80 per cent stake in MLSE.

Marquee sports franchises, and conglomerates such as the MLSE, are often worth over $1 billion, which makes it difficult for individuals to purchase them. Sports franchises like the Detroit Pistons and the Philadelphia 76ers in the NBA have been bought out by private equity firms in the past.

"Now it's all about the financial play and the investment, not the emotion or getting into the locker room," Brian Cooper, a former Maple Leaf Sports executive, who is now president of sports consulting company S&E Sponsorship Group, told the Star.

According to its website, Providence Equity Partners manages funds worth more than $23 billion, and is the world's leading private equity firm focusing on media, communications, information and educational investments.

It is uncertain whether or not the firm has made a formal offer.

The Teachers' is reportedly asking for $1.5 billion for its stake in MLSE.

If another company purchases MLSE albeit a foreign investor, there is no way in hell it will ever be owned by a canadian company ever again. i just dont think we'll ever have that much money to repurchase them in the future. and its not like the buyer will be willing to sell within the next 50 years or so.

It's like Mrs. Horton selling the franchise to corporate investors, no way she's ever getting that back.

It will either be Bell Media or Rogers that ends up buying MLSE.

who cares where an owner is from so long as the product is well managed....which hasn't happened under Canadian ownership.
