Would be nice to see him go, but apparently he's not up for anything and the buy-out on his contract would be to pricey.

Wellwood has admitted that his off season training was crap....I think Vancouver has picked up the next St. Louis in Wellwood.
The only chance of McCabe going anywhere is if Fletcher can work out a trade to NY Rangers or Islanders. There is no way they will buy him out...will cost too much. |

one free agent I wouldn't mind seeing in Toronto is Sean Avery....it will cost about 2.5-3 mill to get him though.
Toronto needs to find a superstar...i think the fans can handle a rebuilding phase but only if they have that superstar that they see as the build around guy.....maybe they will handle it for one year but definately not longer....toronto can't hope they get that superstar in the draft (tavares)....they need to make a trade for that superstar....although they have nothing to trade......toronto is in bigger trouble then most people think....this is not a two or three year rebuild....this is going to be closer to a 5-7 year rebuild. Toronto has nothing great in the farm system. |

Looks like they're settin up for that. If he pans out in the bigs it'll be a huge plus having a bone fide local kid superstar. That said, I hope he doesn't stagnate after playing too many years in Junior (been in since he was 14), plus, even with all his skill, he's a power forward type with a Brett Hull release, so they'll need a big time centre to get him the puck and take some pressure off him. He's a one man show in Junior, but he won't be in the bigs. His skating just isn't good enough for him to create chances for others & him self from nothing a la Crosby. |

| The leafs have asked McCabe to waive his no trade clause and he has said no. McCabe then asked to be bought out and the leafs said no.....this is going to get messy...the next step for the leafs is to just ban McCabe from training camp and make his life hell until he waives his no trade clause. |

McCabe is a bitch. He wants to get bought out and then sign somewhere else, so he can make as much money as possible. Go for the by-out.. collect that money and then sign somewhere else where he can make extra cash on top of what he would already get. Even with the cap increasing to 56.7mil this year, he's still not worth what he's getting. |
