| I just got mine in the mail today, let me tell you they are ing dank cans. They get pretty loud. I was a little suprised at their volume, not to say they don't get loud, but they aren't like a sonic overload. However, that dosen't matter. When you do crank them, the clarity is UNREAL. Also, I can put these things on not even plugged into anything and have a conversation with someone 1 foot away from me and not be able to hear a word they are saying unless they yell. They isolate incredibly well, which is what you are looking for, as well as volume and clarity. I haven't tried the MDR-V6, but other than those I don't think I could recommend any other headphone. |

| hey Gluegun, I read somewhere that the Sennheiser MX400 in ear headfones are the same as the MX500 but without the volume control, is this true? |
|

I believe the MX400's are the same as the 500's, except for the volume control, yes...
Dang, those should be CHEAP in Europe though... good headphoens for the price of a sandwich, lol... |

Ive seen a few dj's with the Sennheiser HD 270 , is it good??

The HD270, which is the same as the EH2270, is from Sennheiser's messed up, mostly crappy, old "Bionetic" Design.
Stay clear, folks..

Yeah, that's kinda misleading.... Do you love your new 'phones, or you "just" loved them (i.e. not anymore)?
Hahaha just teasing with ya. :toothless
BTW as an "update" of sorts, the swivel mount on the right cup of my MDR-V700DJ has begun to crack a week or two ago. :( I epoxy'd it up, but only as a temporary solution before I scrounge up cash for other cans, most likely MDR-V6's.
Keep in mind, though, that my V700's are only about 4 and a half months old, with average use (nothing heavy, I mean I don't throw them around). Just shows ya that they really are made out of cheap plastic. Now I wholeheartedly recommend that you stay away from these!!! I used to *tolerate* them, at least, since I'm not really a diehard audiophile. But as these headphones really don't have any real positive merit to them anymore (durability being low), then there's no point in even tolerating them.
Stay away!
Well, there IS one positive aspect -- looks. But I very much doubt that the looks are worth the $$$. Looks can be deadly. :stongue: |

| just got v700... and love their flexibility. let's see whether they'll start cracking in 4 months. |

| If you like flexibility, you should have looked at the Sennheiser HD25 and Sennheiser HD280 Pro... |

i bought the sonys only for two weeks, and then will return them (got them especially for the big event i am going to), just didn't have time to check.
after that, i'll look for more serious research (your posts will be a great help:)), and choose the ones that i will like most. the problem is that there is no "normal" store around where i live. and i can't really hear all those differences in sound at the online store, can i:D
i will probably get the sennheisers (hd-25 that is), but i'm not sure yet. i would also like to try pioneer headphones (6000 or 5000... i'm not sure how they're called) and technics headphones. not being a sound professional, i am mostly influenced by who uses different models of headphones (like oakey using pioneers, and the best russian dj fonar - technics). maybe you could enlighten me on characteristics of these latter mentioned headphones (don't get too deep tho:D). |

Guess we all owe a big THANX to gluegun for his attention to the subject!
Btw,I'm going for the HD280 pro's and if i can't find i'll probably head for the MDR-V6's!
Both of them are difficult to find though..guess i'll need somee luck! |
