i am still burning my hdj1000 in but id say at this stage they are pretty close however in SQ id give the sennys the edge, plus it seems easier to beat match with the sennys...might change once the pioneers are burnt in proper
Ghostface
what do you mean by burning in?

I assume it's like wearing them in but am confused about it used in a headphone context?

Burning in is the process of the driver and the suspension elements (the 'spider', etc.) loosening up and thus being able to extend further after use. In other words, if ya use em a bunch, they start sounding better.

I'm currently in the process of upgrading from a Sony MDR V500DJ to a Sony v6 :) I'm realy curious :)

Since you are in Europe, you may wish to scope out either the Sennheiser HD280 Pro or the Sennheiser HD25.

If I'm not mistaking, he is using the Stanton's DJPro 2000s

He's been using those since late last year...........don't know about the performance

but......if Tiesto can use it at big events like that........it's probably pretty good or like ghost said........Stanton pay him load of $

just thought id give a quick review on the hdj1000s

pros

- mids highs quite clear, not harsh
- bass very pronounced
- comfortable
- cheap! (125 US from audiocubes.com)
- look VERY good and nice carry case
- nice and flexible, seem very solid construction
- very well insulated

cons

- mids and highs arent as flat as hd25's
- bass can be a little overpowering
- can become sore after a while with the constant pressing against ears

id say the technis 1200's and these are quite well matched, but id go with the hdj1000's. with the hd25's, it is tougher. the sound on the hd25's is definitely better, however they dont seem quite as flexible. also the price is a biggie. for 125 US i dont think you can go wrong with the hdj1000s!

I had my first gig out last night and was using my hdj1000s. Just have to say the closed back cup seals out external sounds brilliantly. Was really pleased that I ended opting for them.
deadman
wikit man they actually listen to musik in hobart:D lol jj:p

hmmm im in a bit of a dilema
i have had my hd 280 pros for only like 4 weeks today and they are already fkt;/
the right headphone stopped working so i just opened up the swivly thing by un-screwing and hey-wot-u-knoe the wire is severed;/

now since i ordered them from sydney (i live in perth) it will cost maybe 20 or 30 Aus$ to ship them bac to the ppls i got them from

was just wondering if i could get this wire joined bac together in perth
or will i have to send them bac over to sydney??:conf:

they are still under warranty with basically 2 year left so:eyes: :conf:

thanx;/
