P.S. re a couple of posts back: HD 280's are well priced at etronics.com and ecost.com

Damn nice review! Anyone know how to contact that guy? So we can thank him? And point him towards some Ultrasone headphones too? :) heheh... if he can review all those, he can take more comers... :)

My second pair of Sony MDRV700's headphones have cracked after a year and a half, same problem replaced under warranty with the first pair

Good phones but inherently flawed

I am thinking about Pioneer HDJ-1000 now as replacements

also considering Technics RPDJ1210

and Sennheiser hd-280

I have read fairly well through the thread, I think I will go for the Pioneers but would appreciate any other reccomendations/comments

Cheers

I've had HDJ-1000 as my first and only DJ headphones. I preordered them before they even came out. They served me well, but now the band got unglued and needs repair.
Maybe I am used to my comfortable Sennheiser HD 590 for regular music listening, but the Pioneers are uncomortable to me. I heard a lot of good things about Sennheiser HD 25 and I am curious to try them out.
BTW on Sennheiser's website I just saw a silver version of HD 280 and the model HD 212 looks interesting. Anyone heard of this model?

Well hes the guy who runs skratchworx, i think he goes by "gizmo" if you go to www.skratchworx.com and go to the headphones review news part, youll see a place where you can post comments. He usually reads them.

EDIT: here you go Headphones review comments area

Personally i think the sound on the pioneers is horrid. Still don't understand why that review would give it a 10

Here's a short list of the headphones I'm contemplating on getting, I dont' want to spend more than $70. These are all less than that on pricegrabber.com. If you know of any that you could reccommend that'd be cool

Denon AHD550 50MM Driver Headphones

Pioneer SE-MONITOR8

Sony Audio Visual Accessory MDR-V500DJ

Sennheiser evolution Headphone 2200

Thanx,
Craig

are you wanting to stick to those 4 models or are you just chosing those for the price?
Hyoctane
Mostly just because of their price range.

i just got a pair of sennheiser hd280's and there amazing headphones and all but the sound is slightly distorted with some records - is this normal when their new? Its like the sound quality is soo clear that you can easily hear crackles on records.

I had a chance to test drive the Stanton DJPRO3000 headphones and I have to admit that even thou I've only been using Sony MDRV700 until now I'd consider those headphones as an optional replacement . Not bad at all .
