don't most trance DJ's want headphones that are not crazy huge, fold up, can be driven by anything (you would need to get the 80 ohm version of the beyerdynamics for that, not the 250 ohm...), and can do weird twists and such for one-eared monitoring?

Well I'm not a "trance dj" and I actually don't mind much about the size either (I actually think big headphones look twice as cool). All I care about is sound quality and comfort.

Okay... you still probably want the M version, the 80 ohm version...

I just listened to these for the first time last night at a buddy's house. Really light and comfortable, no pressure or anything at all (I'm used to the vice-like grip of the Sennheiser HD280s); I felt like I could wear em for hours. Very clear, rich, warm sound reproduction. It felt like it might have lacked a little punch on the lower end but it sounded frickin incredible otherwise.

After trying em out I immediately wanted a pair.

If you think the Dt770-pro's lacked punch on the lower end, than it had to be the source, or they were the 250 version being driven improperly. The DT770 Pro's are known for their INCREDIBLE bass... which is pretty much said to be their best feature...

They were the 80 version. Yeah it was probably the source - a dnb set off of iTunes - I thought it was weird they weren't more bassy. That's encouraging because I really like the phones but I'm all about good bass. Thanks for the info.

Hi all!
I just purchased myself some Technics headphones, specifically the RP-DJ1200A model. I chose between these and M-Audio's new headphones, and I chose these, cause for some reason my dad has a discount from Panasonic, and some of the specs surpassed the M-Audio headphones(Though I wish I had that removable cord ><). I haven't received them yet, so I was just wondering what, if any, experience you have had with these headphones(or Technics headphones in general). Cheers.

so i went with the v6 model, had these for about 8 months now and i'm very happy with them - the folding feature is actually very, very handy, and i've taken these to coffee shops many times. the pads are replaceable, the sound is great - i dj'd at a couple house parties with these and they worked well. kind of uncomfy after 2-3 hours, but that's the tradeoff with small pads. highly recommended.

Regarding the HD-25 vs the HD-25 SP I strongly recommend the "real" HD-25. I own both and the wiring of the HD-25 SP is terrible (one wire from each cup). Plus that the HD-25 sits alot better on your head together with a better sound.

Just got my 'phones today, turns out the DH-1200 model was ordered as opposed to the DJ1200A model(Cheaper, but it has larger drivers, and a detachable cord <3). I just blew my mind all over the wall behind me XD

Remember, you can switch the pads out to some made by a different company... look earlier in this thread for info on the beyerdynamic pads, made for the dt250's.
