I don't know for sure about the 7506 but everyone who posts about them says they're well-made and don't fall apart. I've never seen anyone complain about them being flimsy or mechanical problems.

I have the Senn 280 which has a tendency to crack at the bottom of the headband especially if you have a bigger head. I had them repaired twice under warranty and have now taped up the ends with many layers of plastic electrical tape and that seems to help a lot. I no longer hear "cracking" sounds as I put them on, which indicates the pieces are not flexing as much as before, I think the tape acts like a cast on a broken leg.

so i am looking at buying the hd 280 pros and they seem to be named differently on some sites as the hd 280 and hd 280 silver being the options and i thought the black ones were pro version and the prices seem to vary also although i see the same tech specs listed for both between sites
could someone who knows help me out?

The Senn 280 silver is just a different color from the black version, it is the same mechanically and electrically. Usually the silver version is a little more expensive and not so easy to find.

The black ones look kinda big and dorky, maybe the silver color makes them look smaller.

Sennheiser also has the HD215 which seems to be more designed for the DJ, description hints it is more rugged, similar price so probably similar sound. They look a little better in the pictures, but I haven't tried them yet.

alright thanks for the clarification, i was a little confused about that

215's get owned by the sound of the 280's. They are okay, but I'd go for the 280 any day. They are big, sure. But i thik they are cool!

Also the 215 aint muhc smaller either, in fact they are prolly just as big!

i'm looking forward for buying new headphones... but, unfortunetly there's quite huge but, i don't have as much $ as i'd like to have and i need some recomendations about them...

i was thinking about these:

Sennheiser EH-150 and AKG K-55

did someone used them? or maybe know other in same price range...

any comments would be appreciated :)

I haven't heard of the 7506's breaking. My 280's have lasted longer than any other headphone I've owned... but I am on my second pair as the first ones cracked after a year. Thankfully 2 year warranty.

There's way too many kinds of headphones imo. if Senheiser mass produced HD25 (or any other brand/model), then the price would come down so low that you wouldn't need the different variations for different prices.
just stick to the best and make heaps.
imagine the Mercedes/McLaren (SLR?) coming off the production lines in China at 1500 a day. Everyone could afford it!
just my opinion.

It doesn't quite work like that, if people are willing to pay high price for the HD 25's then why would they lower the price, and overall company profit?
