Wow I didn't read through all the 72 pages but from what i've seen, people have been having problems with their headphones cracking. I am in the market for headphones and i am looking for something that surpresses sound almost completely so i don't have to crank up the volume on my headphones in order to beatmatch. Also I have the HP-700's and they are awesome but since i made one of the drivers lose by throwing the headphones to the floor i am looking for new ones because i want superior equipment.
Here is a review for the headphones:
http://www.djzone.net/pg/reviews/ge...00-review.shtml
I got mine for 60 bucks cash and they are really loud. I prefer them to the Sony MDRV700DJ. I have had my hp's for a year and no cracking no nothing i must admit this headphones are pretty sweet and don't regret buying them.
Does anybody have problems with the top of the lines statons and pioneers? |
My pioneer hdj1000s just cracked today. :whip: Granted I've had them for almost 2 years.
I was lucky that I had my sony mdr-v500s that have lasted me eons. Sound quality can't compare to the pioneers though.
Has anyone used the new Denons? These - http://www.agiprodj.com/?p=746 ? They look beefy and sick, I'm thinking of getting some. |

| You all should check out what www.headphone.com has... The AKG K81 DJ look interesting, as well as some of the Ultrasone stuff... call or email them and ask what would be good for trance DJing.. |

Is the bass there and just quieter or is it not there?
Chances are, you are hearing non exaggerated bass for the first time...
plug them into as many things with headphone jacks that you can find... generally, if the source has bass, the hd25's will too...
spend time playing them when you aren't home... break them in... listen to them with everything...
listen to them all the time for a straight week...
then go back to the hdj100's... |

there is bass but compared to the hdj1000s not as much...
" non exaggerated bass "

Well, some headphones make one aspect of the sound you hear be far, far more than what is actually called for by the recording. This is called "exaggerating" that part of the sound. Generally, for many types of headphone use, you want to be able to hear all parts of the sound, but dont want any parts of it really be drastically stronger than the rest. |

ah ok thanks for that.
i guess i just need to get use to the hd25s |

Yea... as long as the sound isn't too drastically recessed, you should at least give them a try...
of course, you might have a defective hd25. That's always a possibility -- spend time playing them, both on and off your head, and see if you get used to it... |

| i just got my pair of hdj-1000's in. I'm liking the sound but they might be a tad bit big. :( maybe im just not used to the things yet. Are most pro headphones as big as the hdj-1000's? |

| nah, hdj1000 are pretty big compared to most of the others, the technics 1210s are smaller, and then even smaller are my new hd25s |

This is true, the hd25,s are studio cans made to give you an absolute exact sound as the audio source. the hd25s are flat .The DJ cans eg pioneer hdj1000 and techs dh1200are made for beat mixing and the bass and other parts are overdone a bit to make mixing in a club easyer.
I mixed on hd25s for 2 years then I got my tech dh1200's and I remember thinking how mutch more bass the techs have.
It all comes down to what you like.
I love my techs... |

i think the hdj is a standard size. technics 1200 is bigger and heavier.
no mean to disrespect but did you give the rpdh1200 a try before getting the hdj? i had an hdj and ill take the rpdh1200 over it anytime now. i had my hdj for 3 months and it already broke and i used it very carefully. good thing pioneer replaced it for free. |
