Ya. they dont isolate at all and are cheapo headphones. Not recommended for DJ use, but they sound alright for the $$$. |
I read Gobs of this stuff here and went to try out the V6 and several other brands.
I have the V700's already and wanted to see what all the talk was. I use my headphones for live play so anything I got would have to be solid and sound good. At the end of 3 hours mixing a few days back I decided I'm staying with my 700's. The sound on the V6's is good but I found the isolation was not good at all, I can't understand the ga-ga. It's all down to personal preference, I got my 700's coz I like the sound and then found out they are popular amongst the famed DJ set too. I don't give a monkeys whether they use 'em or not, its about doing good mixes and I discovered audioPhile cans don't do it when there is a 10Kw PA system banging out Orange 7 at 140BPM right next to you, my 700's are the way for me. Different Strokes for different folks.

Offhand, I'm not sure how well active noise cancellation would work in the ambient sound level of a DJ booth. Also, using wireless radio instead of wires always makes you susceptible to electronic noise. |

You tried the V6's, not the V600's, right? If you want lots of isolation, try the HD280's... and in the mean time, take good care of your V700's, especially with the swivel joint.. Also consider the Sennheiser HD25.
Ooohhh... there's a new kid in town, the AKG K271S. Check this post I made:

Ya, it's all over this forum, it's one of the better DJ headphones on the planet...
Look for Sennheiser, Ultrasone, and AKG headphones... one of those has to be RELATIVELY inexpensive...
Ultrasone HFI-650
Sennheiser HD25
Sennheiser HD280 Pro
AKG K271S |

| can anyone tell me the difference between Sennheiser HD Pro 280, and the HD Pro 280 Silver. Tell me they didnt bump up the price by 30 dollars just cause they are silver. Any technical differences between them? thanks |

I think they're exactly the same except for color - Sennheiser HD 280 Pro and HD 280 Pro Silver. It costs to be cool. www.sennheiser.com refers to the Silvers as a "variant" of the standard model.
I got the regular black ones, the Silver is hard to find at a good price. They're decent phones for sure. |

... well, you need to rethink what you need, lol. Do you want headphones for djing only? Production work? Home listening? DJing in extremely loud clubs? At smaller (quieter) venues? What is your maximum budget, in USD, that you are willing to spend after shipping? What is your ideal budget? |
