Haha i reread the thread. You didn't need all that excess on the outer border. but if it sounds good then i guess it wouldn't matter.

I might get a lot of told u so's from a lot of people here coz i was told but i praised the sony mdrv700's and how they were easy to use at high volumes. However i've noticed recently using them is making me go a bit deaf and its annoying u find ur hearing shot after 20 minutes and also just going back to the crappy mdrv500's i noticed how scarily innacurate the 700's are for beatmatching due to the stupidly loud bass drowning out most of the track. I'm considering getting some of the sennheisser hd280's. thoughts please

the senns are sweet, altho if i remember correctly the bass CAN be overpowering at times.
either way, you should check out the technics rp-dj1200, very very nice headphones and im sure a lot of TAs would agree too (i have them :) )

I like my Sennheiser HD280's sound although a little more bass would be good. BUT mine are again CRACKING at the ends of the headband, as I described in a post about a month ago. I hope that by the time the 2 year warranty is up they will have redesigned the weak headband components. They are just too flimsy for pro use, and can't even take occasional home use. If there is no fix I will be buying a big roll of duct tape at the end of the warranty period. :whip:

Anyone else with this problem should ask Sennheiser to redesign the headband to make it stronger.

Werd.. Mine are beginning to crack also. I am a bit annoyed by this. They should reinforce it with a lil metal or something. Oh if you want more bass, you should perform the putty mod on the HD280. It really brings out the bass in these cans.

Sennheiser HD 25, the solution for all your problems.

I'm afraid that they're much too bright and tinny for their own good, based on what I've read in other forums.
