Are you talking about the Stanton DJ Pro 3000's ?
If so, here is my review on them.
I bought a pair of these headphones the day they came out, i was shopping for a pair of Pioneer HDJ 1000's.
It so happened the Stanton rep was in the store when i was there (but i did not know it at the time).
I approched the sales assistant and asked to try out the pioneers, he gave me a set and also a set of these stantons and said to me to compare the 2 sets.
I did and found the sound quality and comfort of the dj pro 3000's to be better than the pioneers.
So i decided to buy them.
At the counter the stanton rep approched me, introduced himself and asked why i chose the stantons, i told him the reasons, comfort and sound quality but also told him the reason i was buying new headphones is that i currently owned a pair of stanton dj pro 2000's and thought they sucked.
Altho the 2000's were comfortable for long use, the sound quality sucked on them and it appeared to me as if they had 'lag'.
IE i would be mixing in the headphones and the beats would be matched but when taking the headphones off, LIVE the mix sounded out of sync.
I've never had these problem with sony's or technic's headphones.
So i paid my £100 and took home the dj pro 3000's.
I've had them for something like 4 months now and still love them, for clubbing and bedroom use, the sound quality is amazing, they have a handy filter switch on them too so u can cut out certain frequencys which i find useful in club mixing.
Having said all that, i am now a bit pissed off with them because of long term build quality, the headband now has 2 stress cracks, one either end on the adjustable section and i don't think they are gonna be in one piece too much longer
see pic for where they have cracked.

Also they have a stupid blue flashing LED built into each cup, thankfully these can be switched off and the battery that powers them removed.
Now if Stanton can improve the build quality on the headband i would recomend these headphones to anyone, at the mo i would not recomend them, mine have not been abused or dropped, just had 4 months normal use in a few clubs and at home.
Apparently NuMark have some new headphones out so i will possibly be trying those out very soon.

Damn, I really need new phones, and i have no cash, and dont see that i'll be getting any in the near future.
I was thinking of getting the stanton 2000s because they are the cheapest djable phones, but now hearing about that "lag" has scared me off. |

Currently I have the HDJ-1000's....sent in for analyse of some mysterious fatigue cracks. Surprise...Surprise.....
Looking at the Sony MDR-V700's, Pioneer HDJ-1000's, Stanton DJ Pro 3000's and the Technics RP-DH1200 you would think some kind of conspiracy is going on. I mean each pair is nearly identical in shape and look and so far seem to have the same inherent problem.
When you spend that kind of money on a set of headphones you don't expect to be replacing them every year. I mean there not a pair of shoes that you buy at Wal-mart that should wear out...this is quality electronic equipment.
Makes me wonder if the big wigs of Sony, Technics, Pioneer and Stanton all gathered at some secret location to discuss how to make expensive headphones that need replacing every year.
Maybe its just me, but don't you think its about time that someone stepped up to the plate and made some quality headphones.
ENOUGH OF THIS CRACKING BS...do some Materials analysis, start firing some Design Engineers and make something that WORKS!!!!
Theres my 2 cents....or was that more like a $20
Check Avatar for crack.

You can add two more crack on both sides L & R in the "red pointed" spot. Both sides fell apart as if you cut them off in those spots.

OMG, i just checked mine for the cracks u pinpointed and sure enough on the left cup there is one exactly where u put the red spot.
FFS, i think i shall try to get the money back on mine tomorrow, like i said i've only had them 4 months

I had a feeling that you'd find those cracks too :(
I'm beginning to think that companies do it on purpose to boost sales of headphones , too many brands have the same or very similar problem . All they'd have to do is replace some plastic parts with metal alloy to stop the "cracking" . |

Hi ampz
:D
what i can say to you.....
i heard many good reviews about the grado headphones
beeing one of the best pair of headphones you can use without an amplifier
but
as an owner of sennheiser hd-25 1
i hygly doubt you can get yourself better headphones for mixing purpose
they are so light and cover so much the outside noise
you almost forget you have them on your head but dam the soud is awsome
when you are mixing and you switch the cue button its incredible how you can seperate the 2 songs
both pair come at a costly price
i think both are amazing headphones but for mixing purposes i doubt it could get better than the sennheiser |
