Btw,I'm going for the HD280 pro's and if i can't find i'll probably head for the MDR-V6's!
Both of them are difficult to find though..guess i'll need somee luck! |
Looking for headphones in Greece, huh?
The MDR-7506's might be easier to find than the V6's....
Also, with many lower-end DJ mixers, the V6 is easier to drive (due to impedence issues and such) than the HD280 Pro's...
So, look to try and demo the MDR-V6, MDR-7506, HD280 Pro, and HD25. You should be able to find some of these, and you can always import from the U.S. if you want! |

Yo!! Any DJ that I pursuaded to get the MDR-V6, MDR-7506, HD25, or HD280 Pro that upgraded from any part of the MDR-V### line....
I need a bit of help. I'm trying to spread the looooooveeee to another forum, and if anyone could help back my position up? I think I need some people with some more first hand, dj experience with these things!

Heya dvd....
Yea, I dunno why I do these crusades, but, well, the more forums that I, erm, help with headphones, the more people know, and the more chance I can make an impact on Sony, lol...
It looks like that thread I was having trouble with got cleared up. Alccode's posts at the end are VERY interesting, IMO! |

Hows the philips sbc-hp890 compare to the senn 280 pro??
I need a new pair of cans with a pricerange under $200AU or $100US |
|
|
| Gluegun |
| Well, the 890 is a big huge gigantic open headphone, and the 280 is perhaps one of the most closed headphones on the planet. They dont compare-- this is a case of apples and oranges. |

i wouldnt recommend hd 280s for djing, they're great monitoring cans, but they wouldnt work out good at a club... tried & tested... a shame really... they're really precise, just too damn quiet, ugh...
v6's on the other hand are great
just my $1.99 |

| It actually depends on the mixer in question. They get plenty loud with lots of mixers. You gave them 100 hours of burn in, right? Why not buy a headphone amp? |
|
|
| TranceGeek |
well i've tested them on numark, roland and djm-500 mixer... not sure what else to test it on... plus i don't think a headphone amp is a viable option for any dj... :/
its a shame really, they're great cans!

maybe so, but i browsed some forums and noticed other people were having the same issue...
*shrugs* |

| Maybe. I noticed that half of 'em have problems (it only sounds good through my reciever!) and the other half can drive them *well* with a crappy 5 mW sony MD player.. |
