I don't know if it's because these are not the MDR-V700 model or because they might be used a bit, but there's no bass at all in these headphones, compared to my sennheiser PC150 on my computer:eyespop:

also wondering about the MDR-Z700s. I've seen them on ebay, but I'm sure they aren't the same as the V700s, judging by their typical buy it now price, they're a bit crap really.

I have read some good stuff on here about them, however i've also read on sites like MusiciansFriend.com from users that they aren't loud enough. I need some loud headphones because the ones I have (Senheiser HD-212s) just aren't loud enough, even when I turn my monitors down...really hard to beatmatch properly with them. I don't want any too loud though, as i've heard the Senheiser HD-25s are dangerously loud, but just something I won't have to turn up to dangerous levels or something that is so loud that even when you turn it up a little bit, it's damaging...

I find mine plenty loud enough, I wouldn't dare listen to them at full volume because I'm quite attached to my ear drums.

Buy them!

I had a feeling that you'd find those cracks too :(

I'm beginning to think that companies do it on purpose to boost sales of headphones , too many brands have the same or very similar problem . All they'd have to do is replace some plastic parts with metal alloy to stop the "cracking" .

My thoughts exactly. Corporate bastards!!!!!!!!

Anyone own Senn HD-595's? I'm thinking about picking them up for christmas and I don't know if they are that big of an upgrade from my Sony MDR-V600's. I won't be using them for DJing, just listening to music and gaming.
