HDJs can handle an obscene amount of power ,moreso than the sonys and the HD 25s ( i have all three sets)
- i play in some stupidly loud clubs- they do not distort, unless you have the gain (s) stupidly high and its clipping the input (which isnt headphone related anyway) |

sennheiser hd-25 vs. hd-280pro
why shouldn't i get the 280s? they're much cheaper and the ear goes in there unlike in the 25s, as they're left on top of your ear (that is if i understood the sennheiser website correct)
any reasons why i shouldn't get the 280s as i really want good headphones where i can get my ear in them!
as the 280s are so much cheaper i'd imagine they're somewhat worse in quality, but how much and in what way is this? someone with experiences on both please help!
thanks!

can someone suggest another set of headphones for me? i already have the senns 280 pros. i sorta wanna get another pair, should i go headphones or earbuds? i'm just gonna mostly use them for listening pleasure, but if i go headphones that can possibly be used for djin' that would only be a plus but doesn't really matter.
i was looking at the shure e3's and got a quote at guitar center for 136 but i dunno if i can justify spending that much for earbuds although they are supposed to be top notch.
also whats the verdict on the technics rp-dh1200 headphones? good, bad?
Thanks,

The e3's arent earbuds -- they are inside the ear canal earphones... the type of things that musicians use on-stage when performing. The e3's would work great, and dont worry about them being 'small' -- just read all of the reviews of the things at head-fi if you are worried. |

I have the 280's and I like the sound and isolation but they are a little big, and WORST OF ALL - the headband is cracking for the 2nd time. I posted pictures of this on the main headphone thread. Fortunately they have a 2 year warranty, but it's a still a big pain. I have a normal sized head (180 lb guy) but if you are smaller the 280 might be OK.
Sennheiser knows about this problem but who knows when/if they will fix this design error.

I also have HD280 Pros and they are currently away getting fixed by the USA Sennheiser office in Connecticut under warranty, due to a broken headband. I'll be more careful with them in the future... apart from the headband cracking, they are otherwise the best headphones I have used. I can't mix as well with the Sony 700's, too boomy, not as precise... same goes for the HDJ1000's.
I'm interested in findout out some more about the HD25s though, and how they compare to the HD280 Pros. Obviously they are a more expensive product, so like some other people I'm wondering what I'd be paying extra for if I bought a pair down the track. Sennheiser claim that they have very good isolation like the HD280 Pros, that's all I really know.
Got any info off the top of your head Gluegun? Thanks in advance :) |

I would also love to know how the 25s stack up against the 280s, I'm pondering new headphones at the moment and am also considering hdj1000s and the TechRP1210s.
Has anyone also had any experiences with the new Stanton DJ PRO 3000? |

| There has to be a TON of HD25 vs. HD280 threads on head-fi.. could you ask a more specific question? They are very different headphones... also, is your version of the HD280 modded yet? that makes a difference... |

I haven't modded mine... are you refering to the putty mod? From what I remember I thought that the putty mod was to increase bass response, which I don't want.
Here are some more specific queries for you Gluegun -
- The HD280 has the kind of isolation I love in a pair of headphones. The HD25 looks smaller around the ear and I can't help but wonder if the HD25's isolation lacks in comparison to the HD280
- The HD280 has the flat frequency response that I love also, no exagerated bass or rolled off highs etc. Is the HD25 flat like this? How does the sound quality compare and in what regard?
- I find the HD280 very comfortable but rather large and chunky, which can be a pain at times when DJing. I get the impression that the HD25 are smaller & lighter headphones, what's the general opinion on the comfort of the HD25?
Thanks mate, any help is appreciated.
ps: I'm looking on head-fi as we speak. |

| I'm thinking about 280 pro and everyone says that are great. I'd like to use my headphones mainly to producing less to djing. |
