Yeah even if the Numarks looks great, they seem cheaper (quality meaning). While I posted here and you replied, I heard about the American DJ HP700...any comments on this one?

eewww... i saw the pic for those and it made me cringe!

firstoff American DJ products (if you look at most of their line) are ripoffs... those HP700s are obviously imitation Pioneers that being said, alot of ppl are detered by fakes if you're one of those

aside from the fact that theyre fakes, they look pretty cheap on the build quallity

but yeah.. i personally have never touched em or seen them in front of me so the best advice i can give you is to look them over yourself at your local dealer if you can

however as a proud owner of probably the cheapest plastic beltdrive decks available, i can tell you that you get what you pay for, cheap price often = cheap quality....

Thx for the infos Exodus :) I didn't read all 71 pages of the topic ;)

My friend just brought me his Sony MDr-Z700 in order I test them tonight to see if I love them. Is it the same model as MDR-V700? When I type MDR-Z700 in Google or Ebay, only japanese caracters appears and can't find a lot of infos about them. He bought them on Ebay. I don't know if it's because these are not the MDR-V700 model or because they might be used a bit, but there's no bass at all in these headphones, compared to my sennheiser PC150 on my computer:eyespop:

edit: even on my cd/mp3 player these headphones have no bass. Did I miss something? Like they need an extra boost? My cd/mp3 player is at max volume and I can't even hear the bass and barelly hear the music:confused:

edit2: well it appears that my old cd/mp3 player is broken. I tried with "regular" headphones and the sound isn't really better. it looks like the bass chip has broken lol Damn it's time for a new player then. What a badluck:(

I ing know i'm gonna get the bashed out of me for this...

but I've listend to a couple of decent headphones... at this stage i only need headphones good enough to play at people's parties etc.

Someone mentioned phillips 550s.... I use the HP 250s, which are only like $50....

I find that they deliver depth nicely, so when i mix RnB etc. they're fine... they suck at the harder DOof Doof of trance...

but for anyone here who finds that their headphones seem to be a bit laggy, and poor on the harder bass, I think that getting amps for your headphones might be a great idea for yas. which was my plan from the start when i bought these headphoens... I still haven't bought an amp for it yet, and i will, once i get the cash...

It's a typical problem that you find in car soudn systems taht don't have enough power going inot the subs... once u get a good amp, the response, and the hardness of the bass is the thing that improves more than anything else...

In the end, I'm guessing that it might be comparable to get house pov-assed heasphoens for poor people like me, and hook up amps in them, as it would be to get nice headphones from square 1.

Once I get amps, i'll let you guys know

Anyone know anything about the Sony mdr-v900's??

My sennheiser hd-280's cracked on me and i'm looking for a new pair. I was thinking of either just replacing with the same ones or checking out the v900's.

My friend just got the hd-25's, which I was originally looking at, but they aren't circumaural and they make my head hurt after I wear them for a long time.

Anyone got any other suggestions for comfortable circumaural headphones???

(plz... no one suggest the pioneers, i absolutely hate those) :haha:

I have the same cracking problem with my Senn HD280 (they have 2 year warranty so maybe they will fix yours). They recently came out with the HD215 which is similar but probably stronger, but not many reviews of these yet.

Sony MDR-7506 a.k.a. MDR-V6 is circumnaural too (surrounds ears) and gets good reviews here, apparently sounds similar to Senn HD25. I haven't used them yet, I just read the reviews :)

after reading a bunch of reviews n stuff... i decided to get another pair of hd-280's... i realized.. i love the sound, they were comfortable on my head... so why not.

the reason why i couldn't get mine repaired is because i bought them used for like 40 bucks.. haha....

Technics RP-DH1200 cracked and fell apart in the usual spots , almost identically to the Sony MDR-V700 and Stanton 3000's , lasted longer than Stanton 3000's thou , the whole 10 weeks , simply "amazing" .

Anyone used the Vestax DM-01's? How is the sound quality and build? Are they worth their price?
I can get them for about $100.

So I've been doing some research on headphones throughout the day and I'm looking to pick up a new pair in the price range of $100 to about $250-$300 (you know if something is $260 I'm not going to shoot it down.)

I only use headphones on my computer - which I listen to music on and watch a lot of DVDs. So, sound is pretty important to me ;-)

Right now I'm using a rather old pair of Sony V300 headphones - and I like them. I like the feel of them especially. However, I'm pretty sure I can get a lot better sound with a nice upgrade!

So far I've read that the V700's are a nice pair - decent sound, great fit - and they have a nice pricetag. But I've heard so many good things about Sennhesier; I don't want to pass them up if they are the better choice!

Specifically I'm looking at Sennheiser HD-280 - which of what I've read, has the best sound... but I am willing to spend a bit more if there's a better buy out there.

I've also read that the sound difference between open and closed headphones is tremendous, and open sounds way better - once you hear it, you don't want to go back.

So can anyone tell me anything about:

Sennheiser HD-555, HD590, HD600, and HD-650?

Abhay
Hey,

has anyone tried out the sennheiser HD212s???

They're supposed to be good for DJing...

lol, but i haven't read anythign about them in this thread...

in fact, this thread seems to revolve around 5 or 6 headphones.....

I'd suggest checking out the Sennheiser HD 215 - new DJ model as of a few months ago, said to be sturdy.
http://www.sennheiser.com/sennheise...nsf/root/500156

I have the HD 280 which I find good for mixing (although not a lot of bass) - now being repaired under warranty for the second time (end of 2 year warranty period). The ends of the headband crack and break off. I hope they have upgraded the replacement parts to be stronger, will report back in 2 or 3 weeks. If they use the same parts as before I'll just tape them up and use them for backup and get Sony 7506 (also called MDR-V6) as many DJs have reported these sound good, are strong, and reasonable price.
