What dj's are really looking for, that's a pretty personal question. What i'm looking for in a headphone:
-lightweight
-durable
-confortable
-good sound, doesn't matter if it's flat or colored sound
-swivel earcups
-coiled long cable
-good isolation
For me the HD25's do the trick, except on the coiled cable part. |

I see your point, but the headphone you choose will depend on the type of application you will use it for. Do the same test in a loud club with loud screaming monitors in your face... all that hi-fi quality goes to shiet... that’s why the 700s are DJ headphones and 7506s studio headphones. |
The simple fact remains that, REGARDLESS of sound quality or lack thereof, the MDR-V6 is more headphone for your buck, and can do everything the V700DJ can do and more, if you disregard the side swivel thing... the V6 can go deeper, can go plenty loud enough to harm your ears, and isolates well.. |

Yes, the 7506s can go loud enough to hurt your ears and isolates well. But they are too flat in comparison with the 700s. Yes, that’s right… That same boominess that everyone talks about and the exaggerated bass and mids on the 700 certainly help out to distinguish elements with in a track when mixing in a club setting (one ear monitoring).
The 7506s are just too flat to be the headphones to use with a super loud system (club setting). You have to adjust the volume so high to hear what is going on, and then the highs of them things are so bright that they almost overpower the mids and low end. |

Anyone else have anything to say on this? I'd like to phone a friend... ;)
In a related note, shouldn't it be safer to beatmatch at lower volume levels with the higher notes? You wouldnt have to turn it up as loud because you can hear those easier?
Also, some people maintain it is better even in a club... i know, I've seen it (somewhere) earlier in this thread... ' ah well... |

| Never had any experience with the 7506's BUt i have tried the v700's and tried to beatmath. The bass heaviness does help a bit in beatmatching bass beats but not much else. I have no problems beatmatching with my HD280's and some consider these to be a more flat. I'd rather have a flatter sound with great quality than the muddy bass and rolled off highs of the v700 |

I believe your talking about the DJ1001 model.
I never tried them myself, but I heard excellent things about those headphones... never heard anything negative. They sound promising, but only way to tell is trying them for yourself. I never was able to find any shop here in the USA that carries them. |

Says who? and your credentials are? and you have listened to what..? This is based on which reviews? What do you consider a DJ headphone? Etc. etc. etc...
Why do I ask this? Because I seriously question why you have the V700DJ in there... |
