| The HD280 and the V6 are really very similar--they have similar sonic characteristics, they fold the same ways (though the 280 folds more so than the v6), they are about the same size, though the 280 is slightly bigger, they both have great build quality, though the V6 has slightly better, they both are comfy, though you need to get the beyer pads to make the V6 comfier, and the 280 blocks out more outside noise than the V6... like I said, they're pretty similar... the only thing that would help ME make my choice would be how much isolation I need, and where I am buying from (280 = cheaper in europe, v6 = cheaper in U.S.). |

Me? Sorry, I don't know much about local distributors... it would probably be some hi-fi shops, or something. Does anyone know?
Another good place to ask would be these forums: www.head-fi.org |

| DjNumShun, I live in Cambridge I got mine from Pro Audio, they were quite cheap and when I ordered them they came the next day, which is pretty impressive. |

| Get a pair of Realistic Nova 40 Headphone, Their very nice, And durable, New headphones suck. Older ones are better, They fit good on the head, And dont bother you like alot do. And yes, Realistic was a Radio Shack brand, But these were sold before they went down hill and sold cheap stuff like optimus |

Well, I would definitely prefer the HD280's over the EH2200's... why? The HD280's aren't ing bright like the EH2200's, and are built better, and I'm really wondering about your methods of discerning the amount of outside noise they attenuate... you say the EH2200's block more? Suuuure.. :)
Here's what headphone.com says about the EH2200's:
"Sennheiser EH2200
An OK sounding headphone given the low price , but quite bright. Good for classical and acoustic music. Also check out the sealed AKGs and Koss headphones in this price range.
Certainly one of the best designs ergonomically and cosmetically. The headphones are very light; have a comfy mesh fabric covered headband cushion; comfortable pleather covered ear cushions; and excellent fit and finish of the all plastic construction"
Here is what they say (unofficially; just a forum post) about the HD280 Pro's:
"The Sennhesier HD280 Pro lists at $199 but we now have them for $99. They offer very good isolation and better sound quality than any closed headphone at that price. They are circumaural and comfort is good. the ear pieces are covered with a pleather like material that is soft and comfy. Sound has the highs a bit recessed (typical of most closed headphones) good midrange and tight deep bass. The bass is much better and more accurate than the 25SP.
The headphones also fold up nicely for traveling. They are 64 ohms and have a single sided coiled 8' cable. They claim to offer up to 32 dB of isolation - and they just might!
If you are looking for an efficient closed headphone with good sound for under $100 this is my recommendation."
They basically recommend the more expensive HD280 Pro's.. |

TraNcerke, I agree with Gluegun on most of what he said. But I think what you mean by "it makes less noize then the 280 's" is "it doesn't play music as loudly as the 280 's" (Gluegun had confused "noise blocking" with "efficiency" when he referred to your quote). |

| Yep that's what i actually ment Shady... 107 db is enough for me @ this moment. I didn't say they are as good but what do you expect ? I just said it's a good alternative for the price.. they are very confortable. |

| Hey, TraNcerke, don't blow your ears out, alright? How loud headphones get shouldn't matter as much with hte HD280's--you won't need the volume... and besides, you are talking about ear damaging levels... |

| I bought the Senn EH2270's for £80 (one model up from EH2200's, look same etc.) and I thought they were good, then I became a member here and thanks to GlueGun found out about the 280 Pros, sent the EH's back and bought the 280's, and there sooo much better. I made a tenner back to. And 107dB would u up. |
