I´ve checked it with a voltimeter and it is not a problem of any of the wires, the current is reaching the phone but no sound is coming off. So that can only mean the driver is broken.
So does any one know where can I buy the spare pot on the internet or the name of the pot????

Ouch, too bad about the V6's...
The Sony MDR-7506's, which are essentially identical to the V6's, include a list of parts that can be ordered for replacement, etc. As for the V6 there isn't. I don't think contacting Sony Tech Support or Customer Support or whatever they have will give you much luck because they don't really want it to be known that the V6's still exist .
I'm not sure, but perhaps you could order the corresponding MDR-7506 part, being the driver, then use that with your V6's (as they're the same headphone). I don't know if you should do that yourself though, or if you should have it serviced. Perhaps you should call Sony anyway, see what they have to say.
Best of luck. |

well those 2 are very popular I've noticed, and I wanted to get the Sennheisers, but I was unable to find those prices you speak of for either pair....the Sony's or the Senns......where did you find those prices?!
im too reluctant to buy Stanton or Gemini headphones.......haven't heard of anybody using them... |

For the Sony's, try shopping.yahoo.com.
As for the Senn's, I have no clue, try the above link as well. I myself got them personally in London, after trying them on.
!Warning! The Sennheiser HD-280's are known to have a few lemons in their line with terrible sound, or some pairs that require a *lot* of burn-in before they sound good. Therefore I recommend that you either try them out in person before buying (like I did), or to order from an online store with a good return policy. Headroom is a good example (headroom.headpone.com) ... I'm 90% sure that's the one recommended by Gluegun, if you search back in this thread or search the forums you'll find out for sure. |

| How are the Technics DJ-1210's for reliability, strength and all of the above? Cause they're the headphones I think I'm definately gonna get! |

| Sorry, I have no clue about any Technics headphones whatsoever. Try searching the forums, or wait for Gluegun to reply. ;) |

Really, ask this at www.head-fi.org
The people there are better at figuring out the part numbers, cost, how to send em back to sony to get fixed, etc. etc.
The Technics headphones are very solid, durable, and reliable, but they have that "DJ" sound, and aren't really trying to sound accurate. |
