i think i saw the sketch that you made with autocad floating around. i have a sketch of my own (pencil & paper ofcourse), i just need to know what would be a cheap, effective material to use. i myself don't have any tools, by a friend of mine has a drill, and a circular saw, i'm not sure if i will seriously need more than that.
pretty much here's what i had in mind....recessed tables (only 2), mixer angled up, and cabinets/shelfs under to store the records...i would like it to be of considerable length as i might be adding cddjs later. i'll try to find my sketch, it's not going to be exactly to scale, but it should work to show you an idea of what i was thinking about... |

Or MDF
MDF looks much nicer after a cppl of coats of paint than Ply too. |

ok, i'm pretty sure i'm gonna need more tools than available to make what i have in mind, but i'm sure i can find somebody that has it...
please excuse the picture, it was just a quick sketch, and my handwriting really sucks...i could've done it with paint, but it would've taken me forever as i suck with paint...

Lol...
I will have plenty of time to build it... my dad owns a carpentry business, so he can get all the materials and has all the tools. A few weekends here and there, and it should be done. Trust me, the hardest part about building the table, will be getting the wood for a good price, since we are gonna build it using Maple and staining it cherry. :tongue2 |

well you're obviously more skilled in woodworking than i am, so it's gonna take me a lot longer to build mine........
maple with cherry, sounds like a nice flavor for pancakes........lol
maple is pretty expensive i've heard, but that combination will definetly have eyes gawking for a while... |

What you dont see in that pic is the CDJ mounts because its hard to draw it in there, it will be similar to how Dewi has it. That table is devised specifically to hide all wires. :tongue2
Maple isnt too expensive, my dad gets everything wholesale. BTW the entire table wont be maple... only the parts you see are - the rest is plywood. ;) |

here is the table i made. It has no recession for the turntables and mixer, but its awesome nonetheless, and is sturdy enough to survive an atomic blast

| Dewi - I'm looking for some speaker stands like those for my Alesis monitors, where did you get them and were they hard to find? How did you mount them, with a studfinder and then wood screws into the wooden framework behind the sheetrock? |
