I live in a fraternity house (big mistake), but the upside is I get to DJ in my own room for big parties! My roomate and I built the entire room from scratch basically. The DJ setup has a plexiglas cover that goes over it and locks making the area into a useable bar.
I have a:
Stanton SMX-401 Mixer
2 Numark TT1625 Turntables
Pioneer HDJ-1000 Headphones
:happy2: |
wow that is a sick setup, and cleanest for a frat house. ya damn. how long did it take you guys to make it? and maybe some pics w/o the light to see it normally? :)
/me so jealous |

Well industry standard is Technics

Well yea, that is more of a club/lounge setting than it is a bedroom/living room... so calling it a club is prolly more correct.. What his equipment has to do with it I have NO IDEA...
He prolly wanted the feel and atmosphere before the equipment..
I bet you are starring at a wall when you mix with your TT's that are 1 step up from his.. Congratulations.

Good to hear, I'll be sure to check out the video when I get home, I wonder if they are gonna use that effects unit in there new mixer there gonna release soon, if so, it could be a serious piece of kit with those effects and that wheel, I wish they would make the CDX look like a normal deck, I would seriously consider it.
EDIT: Wicked setup crrrazydan. |
I was gonna buy that mixer in November but they delayed the release until Jan 05, so I settled for the DXM as a quick fix until then.
I've heard its all the same technology as the CDX, I would think so as the DXM range of effects are not really top level. I'm selling my DXM06 and getting that as soon as its avaliable so I'll let you know.
Also when I bought the CDX the guy in the shop said they are making a CDX2 which will be a cd and turntable hybrid version.:eyes: |

rad video man, im really diggin the effects did the effects come from the dxm06? |
Filters and some of the flangers are off the DXM, I only really use 3 of the effects on the mixer (Tape Echo, Flanger and Filter) the others don't really sound that good imo.
Most of the effects I'm doing with the vinyl are using the mixer and the rest are the CDX, they are better than the mixer effects you can tell the difference in quality when listening and using it. |

OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG, I hope that sales guy ain't lying, but I'm pretty sure one would be in the works by now anyway.
My buddy has the DXM I have to say for the price you pay I was impressed at the effects section, beats the out of the DJX700 where every effect is a cat screaming.
Cool vid man, was good to see the CDX being used for mixing, thats the first vid I've seen of that, all the others were scratching. |
