you're the ones to justify yourself bying techs, never said they're bad. but they're NOT the best anymore...
Project T, nice setup you got there. i got the same stereo about a year ago, don't like it at all though...
shouldn't the speakers be facing at you ? |

sure they are... maybe in another 20 years when vestax decks prove to be reliable, we may be proven wrong... but right now, sorry bud

that's correct, i agree. techs ARE the most reliable decks, that doesn't mean we should all go for them...
besides, i don't know ANYONE who uses the same techs for about 20 years... |

exactly.. I've heard many stories of tech's needing repairs after 4 or 5 years.
vestax and other tables may need repairs too, and it's just as easy to get them repaired.
have you guys actually tried the pdx-2000, 8000, or ttx1?
if you havn't, then don't go saying to everyone buy techs their the best, when you have used nothing better to compare them too. |

what about m3ds ?
I'm thinking about getting some ....
I'd gladly buy vestax, but a tad to pricey + haven't used in a while forgot the feeling and I got nowhere to try them out :(
what you think ??? |

well, i have too, but i think that is just from abuse. I have also heard of people with 20 year old techs that are still running great. I will get back to you in 20 years and let you know mate :)

I haven't tried any of those tables. i'd like to. i have tried stanton str8-80s and str8-100s, and i didn't like either of them, the pitch wobbled about way too much.
what do you guys think of this turntable from vestax? what is the point of having it vertical, and how does the needle not slide off?

| i've worked on pdx 2000s and str8-80s... all i can say is UGH!!! vestax felt so different, i could not get used to them, they weren't "friendly" at all.... and i found str8-80s too inaccurate, just couldn't build up confidence into them... |

this turntable is made for precision scratching.. I dont know how scratching could be better at that angle.. but i guess it is, if they charge $1000 US each.
The tonearm has some special suspension and design that makes it the most stable tonearm in the world, therefor it wont fall down at that angle.
the 2000's do feel different than the 1200's, especially the pitch slider I find.. but I feel it's more accurate and easier to manouver on the 2000s.
thats why I recommend people try different tables before the decide which ones to buy.
The stanton's do have less stable pitch, but that is expected considering the price difference.
Before i upgrade my tables (i've got stantons now) I would like to try out the ttx1s,, if they feel comfortable I would definately consider buying them. |

I don't see how the hell you would scratch on those..
i'd like to try out some vestax's sometime, but for now, my technics are all i need, i don't want to confuse myself. |
