Great mixer however isn't that a bit over kill for just two CDJs? I mean I thought I was going overkill for getting the CDJ 1000 MK2s for my bedroom set up (choose it because I liked the vinyl emulation, the cue save points, the 0.02 pitch resolution, the wave layout, didn't like the feel of the CDJ 200s). But a DJM 1000...wholy moly that thing is well over $2,000 alone (it's more than two CDJ 1000 MK2s or MK3s).
I mean do you really need 6 channels? Are you planning to produce? Add effectors? have turntables? add more CDJs? I'm just baffled at this, there's much much less expensive mixers out there that do the job for you, even the DJM 800 is like $1,000 less than this baby...or the Ecler Nuo 4 or Nuo 5 or even the X:One 92s (even the X:One 64 or 32 will get the job done).
That thing seems more like one of those production mixers, in professional production studios, not really a bedroom set up thing. Even the pros don't use those for their DJ set ups...haha not bashing it at all just trying to rationalize why someone would fork over that much for something that large and extensive....educate me thanks. |
i actually owned a xone 92 linear before this but got rid of it for this. i plan on getting two efx1000's. |

That's the mixer for my local club that I go to. So many djs use that mixer for their sets :p
Also, if I remember right from other pictures in this thread, he has some Technics turntables he can hook back up to it, thus utilizing four of six of those channels. The rest he could just around with. If you have the money, why not blow it.
ps. I 'rly want the 92 if you're willing to sell it cheap :toothless |
i sold my xone 92 for $1,000. it sold pretty fast since it was almost like new |

Yeah I guess. All I saw were two CDJs and his computer. I mean that's a great mixer for production I think, and I'm sure for a club that would be great. But even at the clubs i've been to, they don't have something quite like this, maybe a DJM 500 or 600 or a Denon X1500. I haven't seen many DJs using this mixer myself, whether it's in their studio DJ set up or at clubs or events, it usually something smaller, like a 4 or 5 channel mixer. I mean I could be wrong, I don't travel the country looking at mixers clubs have, but I just am baffled by these high dollar mixers some people have.
I have a Vestax PCV 275, and two CDJ 1000 MK2s and personally feel that you really don't need anything more than a 3 or 4 channel mixer for a home set up UNLESS you are planning to use it for more than DJing (like production). So if he is then that's cool because it can be used for both production and DJing. I'm not trying to start a debate or anything about this, i'm just baffled (and of course bored, nothing to do, no interesting threads...should probably just got to sleep). |

Okay cool deal then, less than a DJM 800. I myself am just baffled like i've been saying at some of these mixers, but maybe it's because I can't really afford a mixer over $500 (my next one will be around that). Maybe i'm just jealous ;) |

| Ahh. Somehow I always envisioned the FX units were smaller - more like kaos pad. |

Nice man.. the table and set up and speaker stands all look top notch. It's a really nice set up.
I have one question though. What do you do for a living? lol
Can't wait to see where you put the two efx 1000's. You thinking of floating them above? You need to bring back the turntables as well to really impress.. (who am i kidding lol)
Get some arms attached to the side of the sefour so they wrap around you! :eyes: lol i had that idea a while back.. |
