| No offense to kimchi, but what makes you want to hear a mix from him rather than these other DJs with "simpler" set ups? Bigger equipment doesn't give you sort of magical fairy dust that makes you better. I'd rather hear a mix done on a simpler set up than a complex one to really hear true mixing using what you NEED, not what you have. |

I think it's more to do with the whole "I haven't seen one of them in this thread before" vibe rather then wanting to hear a specific person's mix.
I guarantee you everyone would probably download everyone's mixes if people had them all posted in a thread here :)
(there's an idea for someone lol)..
It also could have something to do with quality but then a lot of mixers out there would come close and even probably sound better then the DJM1000..
Basically, it's just something a little special. Nothing else then that :) |

| Why is the DJM1000 so touted? It's not digital like the 800, nor does it have MIDI control capabilities such as the Xone 92 or DJM 800... |

The DJM-1000 IS digital, just like the 800.
It also has very nice effect sends/returns ideally suited for use with the EFX-1000.
It does have MIDI support, though I'm not sure how much.
Remember that the Xone 92 only has limited midi support; only a few knobs and the crossfader actually output midi signals.
But yes, it's just a big installation mixer. For big clubs it has a lot of channels and is very flexible. Not sure I'd take it over a classic rotary or not though.
