| thnx for that nelly - the reason im asking is I have a stella artois fridge which is slightly wider than that speaker and i wanted to put it in there. i havnt got the time or skill to make my own table (urs looks great i might add) so i have my eye on the x30. Getting rid of the fridge is not an option - it is an integral part of my DJ booth :) |

your table is coming out NICE...
it looks like you gave your Technics lovly little pillows to sleep on when they get tired :haha:
but im sure its actually to reduce vibration no?

Cheers for the compliments lads, it's the first DIY project i've taken on by myself actually.. Apart from a few mistakes here and there, not THAT visible but still i'm rather happy with how it came out.
The Cream Leather(or leatheret however you spell it) Has indeed got a soft pillow like material under it which i wanted as you guessed cosmic realm, to help reduce vibrations as my sub is right beside my table.. Not sure if it's going to help that much but anyway..
The table is actually finished, i just have to take pictures of it... Thinking of raising my mixer a little (eg slanted) but you'll get what i mean when i get the pictures up..
Again cheers for your kind words..
nelly
edit: actually i found one when it was 95% finished..

Looks a bit better there, only a few final touches on the end product.. i'll get pics tomo and slap them up.
Initially i was only going to put them up here when i had all the pictures but oh well.. |

ya see the section where u have ur big speaker in the middle... is that adjustable? i mean can u change its width? |
No, the shelf above it is the only thing that is adjustable.
The width of the sub is 18" & that space is 20" so luckily for me it jus fits in no more. Since its a tight fit to get my hand into turning it on or off, I bought a bit of carpet for it to sit on so i can slide the sub in & out! |

I doubt you can..
I've built myself a table along the same lines as the sefour x30 there,
here's a pic about 2 weeks ago when it was nearly done..

The reason i know (well think) you can't adjust the length is that the metal poles are a fixed certain length and they wouldn't fit if you changed it..
he's just really really lucky that the speaker/sub looks like it was made to fit right in there :D
Hope that answers your question :) I'm sure darroch will let us know either way |
Thats a really neat, professional table mate. Thumbs up for building it! If i had the skill to make a dj table then i would have done so.
Yea thats right that the metal poles are a certain length. All other holes that have been drilled onto the back of the x30 make it impossible to increase the width of the middle part!
I am lucky that the sub fits! If it didnt fit then there would be absolutly no place for it to sit as my rooms small enuf with everything in it!
I'll take pics of my setup (better 1's) when I get the blue emapth. Hopefully this week (fingers crossed):) |

here's my old set up, officially retired summer of 2005:

two belt drives, and a crusty-ass mtx mixer.
current set up: (-=still a work in probress=-)

i will adding sides to the table top, so i doesn't sit on the tv anymore. i also want to add the sefour trays to hold records on the side, and the headphone holder. gonna upgrade my cables too.
most importantly, i will upgrading the mixer again. i'm pretty much set on a dnx-1500. if possible, a rane mp44. -assumming i can save that much. the dnx is very doable pricewise, just not right now. :(
also planning on adding tascam portastudio to record my sets and transfer them to the computer... saves me a bundle compared to actually building another computer, and wondering where i'm gonna put it! -plus i can do a lot more w/the portastudio. oohhh, and get some new blinds... cheap ass owner didn't want to replace them when i moved in. :)
***edit: sorry, thumnails won't show, so i'll just kill you all w/the full sized images... i took all the pics off, just one old, one new***
+++ edit 9/10 fixed my ... now added more pics :) +++ |

That's a nice step up from your old setup..
And lol at the size of the pics, it's alright for myself on a 2mb line, but with a combined size of nearly a mb! Those pics are just a tad too big i think.. :) It's easy to resize them.. if you want me to do it for you just ask :)
