Wow I feel like I'm on MTV Cribs or something... :D I'm really not trying to be all P. Diddy and show off. I just didn't see anybody with a custom mobile setup (or a Rane 2016) so I wanted to fill that void.
I have been DJing for 3 years or so but I have only done 5 parties so far. But like I said I am putting on a ~150 guest event on May 8th that we are calling 'Ocho de Mayo'. That will be my first big event. If anybody in Seattle wants to go send me an email and I will get you the info. :D
As far as the place goes, it's a 1 Bed/1 Bath+Den condo in the Belltown district of Seattle. I would have got bigger monitors but I’m not really on good terms with my neighbors as it is. That is why I had to get something with a 5 1/2 inch driver. Now I can crank them all the way up and I have never got a complaint. The only person that has said anything at all since I put in the new monitors was the guy that lives above me but he works for Bose so it's cool.
The photos don't show it but that buddy of mine and I actually wired an analog connect from the pillar behind the left monitor that goes all the way over to the receiver, which is to the left of the plasma. So I guess I could put a PC over there (or a Mac :D) with some VDJ software.
As for the vinyl situation, I am keeping all of it. I transfer it all over to CD but I always fear that one day I am going to need it so I hang on. Plus I wouldn't feel right playing the track if I haven't paid for it. The best thing about vinyl is that is can't really be pirated easily. I am scared to death of that would happen if everybody used CDs and piracy became rampant in DJ land. The market for trance is so small that I think it could really drive a lot of artists out of business.
Alright, no more about me please. Let's see what other have come up with! |
