Those default ableton templates are really, really poorly done though.

I'm going to be selling my Xone:3D pretty soon actually, in my opinion it never seemed worth the amount of money I paid for it. The midi section is very weak and way too cluttered, for the amount of space they save on the midi parts they could have spread the knobs around or actually added a third knob in the top section for someone who wants to macro their own EQ settings to.
I hate the fact that the 4th channel fader in the main mixer is basically useless and runs under SC 1-2 even thought you don't need more than 2-3 Ableton channels, would still be nice if it had more of a role. |

The templates are from Traktor3. I loaded the default Traktor 3 TKS file for the 3D an used the templates cause the standard configuration works very well for me.
With Ableton I´m doing the first steps now. I never worked with it before. In Ableton I use a custom setting without the standard templates. |

you should spraypaint the table and the wooden legs black and re-arange the speakers... it would make the setup look sharper :) |

Ahh, hard to tell with the pic. I should post my template... got some cool ideas from some other people on making an easy to navigate layout.
I actually just route all the audio from ableton into the mixer section and mix there... find it's much nicer to mix on the main faders and eq's then with just the MIDI portion, plus it frees up a ton of knobs for effects and clip launch stuff.
