Why not?!? If I had the cash to spend on that setup.. I probably would too, maybe a different mixer, but still..... Why not if you got the money.... |
exactly, why buy a ferarri when a ford focus will get you around. you get it because you want to and you can. i actually had the xone 92 before the djm1000, but since im pure digital i wanted the djm1000 and got a offer on it that i couldn't refuse. i plan to get at least 1 more cdj1000mk2.
now for what i got today
picked up my macbook today. got the 1.83 intel dualcore with the 2 gig ram upgrade

Exactly, I have no idea how Kimchi can afford all of this stuff unless he's making thousands of dollars a month...like on salary or comission. I have CDJ 1000 MK2s, but everything else I have isn't expensive (PCV 275 mixer, KRK RP8 monitors, and I got some expensive Denon headphones but those my mom bought me with some money she owed me). |

| im only 20 years old and i am a full time student. i make about 1500 a month working part-time, but the reason im able to buy all this stuff is because i have no bills. still live at home and stuff so all the money i make is for my own personal use. |

I'm 21 and a full time student and work part-time and make less than half of that...like maybe $600 a month haha if only I had a better job...I also pay for school myself so that takes up a chunk of my money. The only time I can afford stuff is in the summer when I'm working more. I'm jealous :). Where do you work? |

I'm guessing you haven't gone out much then in the last 6 odd months?
Not having a go, just wondering as all your money seems to have gone into your equipment. Having said that, it is nice equipment.
I earn a good bit more then that, and live at home as well (22yrs old) But there's no way i could afford any of that gear. Too many other expenses. Then again i've been drinking (alcohol) since i was 15.. (not boasting, it's just seriously ing expensive going out in ireland now..)
I do have 4k saved up, :( I could buy everything i want!! but then my 18 month trip to australia/everywhere would go up in smoke :(
Fair play kimchi, that's some nice gear. You should wrap it up soon though. Enough toys. Learn how to use them! ;) :p |

Exactly, unless your a professional DJ and clearly know what your doing (do gigs) it's not worth IMO to get equipment like that starting out. I mean sure I have the CDJ 1000 MK2s and am still learning how to use everything on there, I think for a home set up, it's not always neccessary to have the best of the best, unless you clearly know what your doing. I do think there is a thing called over-kill. If I had to choose, I would have probably just got CDJ 200s and got a DJM 400 mixer, but I had some money saved up and I sold a bunch of stuff...like my TTs, a Yamaha DJX keyboard and a Numark DM-3001X mixer. I had $1,000 saved up in one account, and I got another $1,000 for all of those things I sold. Haha that was the only way I would have afforded the CDJ 1000 MK2s last summer. |
