bleh, I'm way too poor to buy a laptop, you have no idea how much I want one to do simple things like record and run Serato. Unfortunately, I'm a poor college student with a dead-end job and a monthly car payment. I'm absolutely content with what I have and I think I'm lucky to have it. |

yeh the mixer is the next thing to be updated lol, and dont worry lol those records are all stuff like "Pure Gold Banjo favorites" that i picked up for 25 cents each at the thrift store specifically to go up on the wall :D |

nice set up, since you're getting the djm 800, does that mean you're replacing the nuo-4?
are you using any software w/the nuo? how's it working out?

couple of reasons... i wanted the 909's to do live stuff w/my neighbor. between us right now we have x3 mc-909's, and a mc-808. -he's planning on picking up another mc-909 too. i love groove boxes, so i felt that this would serve me better than getting a tone module.
also, i have srx cards in both of them. (supreme dance, and platinum tracks) i love the big screen on the 909. the 909 is actually a pretty deep machine, you can do a lot of crazy stuff w/ the sounds in it, and to your samples... and it doesn't tie me to the computer also. huge "+" in my book.
if i want to, i can just grab one mc-909 and just start jamming on it... something i can't do w/xv5050... hehehe...
the outboard gear/daw? in the first or second pic? in the first pic, that's my computer w/an e-mu 1820. i'm not running any daw on it. just ni kore as my vst host, and a bunch of vst's... my computer computer has been relegated to role of just being a tone module, and part time sample editor. all the sequencing is done on the mpc 4000.
in the second pic, next to the mc-909's? that's my mixer, the 02r -an oldie but goodie. |
