yeah, i already got rid of them (its an old pic) becouse they made some nasty scratches in the paint of my tt's :( |
I use bricks under my speakers to lift them a few inches above my decks and isolate them. I put a paper towel between them and the desk and between the bricks and the speakers. Seems to work ok, enough padding to stop scratching, and it is hidden pretty well so you don't see them. |

Only had the monitors a few weeks.. love em but only for production. Currently thinking about buying some Mackie SRM 350's for mixing on. Also think I'll sell my Xone 92 and get a Vestax PMC CX :) |

They are quality speakers for the price, dont get me wrong. Its just they are definately for studio use or home production. The mid is just too harsh on the ear after a while and it lacks the low end you get pumping out of quality loudspeakers. They are active so im not running them through an amp where I can change bass and treble settings. But even with the bass up on the mixer it doesnt sound clear due to my poor room acoustics (ive got a curved ceiling and the walls are made from plasterboard - so frequencies bounce everywhere making it harder to listen). Basically the speakers make me realise how bad my room acoustics are whenever I listen to them placed where they are :D
So I've got some Mackies in mind that will pump out some serious grunt! When they arrive I'll put my Alesis' by my computer for producing. :) |

Recently had a chance to play on the vestax and I love the thing. For mixing techno its pure pleasure and I found it alot more fun to actually use. Also had the chance to test both my xone and the vestax on my mates rig and I was absoloutely shocked to hear the Vestax sounding better! (but not by much) ...This doesn't mean the xone is a bad mixer, not at all! Its just for the style I play the vestax comes out on top!
My xone is no more than 3 months old so I'll be able to sell it for a good price and pretty much buy the vestax brand new with that money. If it can be done without me having to pay out additional cash then I'm going for it! |

Cleaned my room out the other day and found a temporary table in the garage that will hold me until I can get around to building custom shelves. It's okay, except that it's just a bit too low for me so my back feels like when I'm done spinning. However, it's a tremendous upgrade from having one deck mounted on top of a phone book on a stool. :wtf:

I envy you  I'm really gonna get me a CDJ-800 sometime :) |

Sennheiser HD25
Shure Whitelabels x2
Shure M447's x2

The vestax is great (because you can send different sourses to a single channel)
but unless you are planning to get into 3 deck mixing
I would keep that allen & heath in case you want incorporate
ableton or traktor to your set up. (but that is just my opinion).
If you get bit by the ableton bug you will regret selling that xzone...
If you spin techno though and you are serious about it
you should learn to spin on 3 decks ;) .
I am trying to get it right myself
Now this might interest you
djdeals.com offers that mixer for 1500
and you should be able to sell that xzone for 1500 maybe a little less
on ebay. :) |

That's a really nice set up mate... like everything about it.
The Sefour table is lovely too! Just built myself something pretty much identical to a sefour. Will have pics up either later today or tomorrow.
I also love the way your mirror reflects the picture perfectly in the back ground.
However, a few nice mid-bass notes on those mackie's and the bottle might just start moving towards your lovely deck ;)
Again, lovely set up mate..
