why did the sky turn purple back when the hatch blew up? one of these days that has to be explained.
Almost the same thing happened when ben moved the island. Same sound but sky didn't turn purple.
So when they blew up the hatch the island appeared. Now the sky turned white the island disappears and no one can find it. how does the island stay hidden?
Don't like Charlotte staying behind, was she born on the island? what was miles getting at.
So, kate does keep an eye on sawyers kid and thats why jack and kate dont work out.

I don't think it is going to be further explained, it was just a visual effect to emphasize that there was some serious electromagnetic going on. Not pressing the button would destroy everything, then Desmond went to use the failsafe thing, and that saved the day through some weird electromagnetic phenomenon. That's it. I don't think they're going to explore that storyline further.
