finished catching up on Season 1 yesterday, and now a couple epsiodes into S02.
It's becoming even more evident that Locke saw everything that was going to happen. On multiple occasions he seems to know the future and other times mentions "this wasn't supposed to happen." After Desmond accidentally shoots the Swan computer and runs off, Locke yells out "What do you want me to do?!"
Also, more evidence that the smoke monster might be protecting people from Jacob or that Jacob can transform into one as well: The smoke monster appears again when they're on their way back with the dynamite. Locke seems to be interested in it, and actually heads in its direction. When it bursts out, he seems calm when it's in front of him, but for some reason his expression becomes fearful after a few seconds. Maybe he realizes this is the other smoke monster? He's grabbed by the leg, almost dragged down into a hole (before Kate throws dynamite in it) and seems to WANT to go down with it.
Maybe it's trying to PROTECT Locke? There have been several instances where the smoke monster didn't kill people, but dragged them off (eg: Montand)
Perhaps Rousseau was the one who was really "sick" after all and her team was just trying to stop HER. She wore black, dark clothing a lot (sign of influence of man in black?) I'm sure some forms of insanity can cause the insane to think everyone else is the one with the problem.

just watching "The Other 48 Days" now. when the tail section splashes down, it makes one of the sounds in smoke monster's repertoire.

Smokey's 'ratteirng' noise is exactely the same as that noise the NYC cabs are making when printing out receipts. Fact.

i started watching lost about 10 days ago, and im already on 5th episode of season 4. i just finished the episode called "eggtown" where they flashforward to kate on trial. the episode pretty much lead me to believe that her son was by sawyer; instead it's claire's child, jack's nephew. great twist imo. but where's this all going? do you guys think it was a bad idea to show the audience that people actually make it to the real word with 2 more seasons to go?
