Just one of the many noname background characters. I can kinda see them bringing these guys to the spotlight when the show goes on though...

The show just isn't the same since Michael left. The best scene in the whole show was when he mowed everyone down in the hatch... I thought I was watching Ted go crazy with an ice spear

Except he was nothing but a chicken in that specific scene. Most people using a gun for the first time on the show seem to follow the same trend.

but then the original cast haven't really explored thier island completely due to fear of 'the others'

I sincerely hope they don't drag this show out. They're onto a winner, and it could go down in history as one of the greatest shows of all time.
My theory about the script-writing is that somehow they're going to link all the characters together.
Boone (again) and Shannon will re-appear for some reason, and all the characters who we've forgotten about such as Anna-Lucia's mother, Hurley's friend, Shannon's step-mother, Rose, Bernard, and the guy in the outback, Claire's potential adoptees etc, will all somehow come to play part.
