So disappointed with last night's episode. Ridiculously watered down. I'll watch every ep til the end, but I won't miss it when it's over.

Cannot wait for this.I expect nothing less than an absolute shocker. What are you personal theories for the premeiere/the season as a whole? I think the authors might pull off another gamechanger, like starting the story from the end backwards, telling two parallel realities or starting to retell season 1 and then turning it upside down. In any event, Ill make sure to bring 3 additional pairs of pants for the premiere.

Bit disappointed to be honest. No answers, instead just presenting us two alternative realities, not sure if this is going anywhere. I'm confident it'll pick up soon enough, though.
I felt the complete opposite of you. I felt that it started giving answers while still keeping the mysteries that make the show what it is.
For example, we now know for sure who/what the smoke monster is.

Huh? Do we?
We know the Smoke Monster can take the form of dead people (Locke, Alex), we know it functions as some sort of a judge, we know it's the archenemy of Jacob aka Man In Black, we know it can be deterred by making circles of ash, we know it wants to "go home". But what do we really know? What/Who the hell IS this thing, where does it come from and what is its real purpose? Those are the questions that would solve the Smoke Monster mystery once and for all. All we learned so far is the How and the Where, not the What and the Why.

Yep. Interesting though, that the Smoke Monster's facebook page had a picture of it's "other" form a few months ago.
Anyway, I wanna know whats up with that water in the temple. How it still brought Sayid back even though it was dirty and supposedly unable to work?
Also, recall the ash ring around Jacob's cabin, one of his "bodyguards", and the temple.
I still think they're going the "all key characters are ancient Egyptian gods" route.

THey didn't really confirm it, but hinted toward something along those lines. Kimmel responded in the exact same way I was thinking as i was spoilered by the trailer. Here's the interview

I don't know. I liked the first few seasons the best, when it was jsut some people surviving on and island and fighting the natives.
Now it's all mystical and and they have no way of explaining it all via science now, there can only be some religious stuff.
God/Jesus (jacob) vs The Devil (Man in Black) blah blah I could go on but I don't care anymore.
I'm watching it to know what happens, but I don't really give a anymore.

Every Tuesday night at 9 I'm going to stare at a kaleidoscope for an hour instead of watching Lost. I figure it'll make about as much sense.
Waiting 8 months to watch them spend the first hour of the show look at each other on the plane with that "don't I know you" look was well worth it.
If a purple My Little Pony flew out of Jack's butt in the next episode, I'd probably just go "yeah, that sounds about right".

I loved the episode but when I saw the leader of the "new others" all I could think of was Rush Hour 3 hahahahaha
