cool, what show is that ? |
It's the (as yet) unannounced new series of Heroes, where Hiro Nakamura gets bored and decides to go back in time and play Jesus for the entire series. The producers realised this would be a more interesting storyline than anything else they could come up with.

I'm not entirely sure, actually. I got bored after the first two episodes of the 3rd season, then gave up and I haven't thought about it since.

Re: Lost - Yea that last season was ing sick. Mainly because they answered a heap of questions and have started to wrap things up.
Re: Heroes - I did a binge session of the latest season a few days ago and literally just watched the double episode that came out today.
It's definitely lost it's way but there are some nice character arcs going that link in with the others. The latest Samuel one, as well as Sylers concience and Hiros 'final' acts are pretty good.
Yes it can get a bit tedious but it's worth watching. |

so has this show got any less drawn-out and annoying since season 3ish? |
Season 1 = awesome
Season 2 = Garbage
Season 3 = first half is trash (except for Desmonds "Flashes" ep). REALLY picks up in the last 6-7 eps.
Season 4 and 5 are good.
I really disliked almost all of season 2. Felt so pointless. I was ready to give up after season 3 but they really cranked up the quality and relevance of episodes towards the end. |

season 4 was terrible, easily the most pointless season
also, after all the drawn out filler episodes and story lines, is anyone else not as excited about S6 as me? |

imo
Season 1= awesome. the reason i think we all feel it was awesome is that we couldn't anticipate what was going to happen each episode.
Season 2= started slow, then when Ben was introduced, and Desmond started to get more involved in the mix, things started getting interesting.
Season 3= started very slow, due to the show stretching out the whole explanation of the Dharma group (which could have been done in 3 episodes, instead of their 5-6). Middle portion was a headscratcher to me when random people started showing up. The end was awesome.
Season 4= The beginning was too much anticipated for us (due to the writer strike). The first couple of episodes were pretty good. Then it just dragged for me. I wasn't really feeling it.
Season 5= awesome season from start to end. Everything finally is starting to gel together and come into place.
Season 6= ????
I agree with jupiterone about the filler episodes and story lines. I think it's just that the show has so many characters, and the writers try to explain and have a back story for each of them it's hard to show them all while not boring us audience memebers. yet, i'm still excited. 4 more weeks! :p
very happy ABC decided to move this show to Tuesdays. This leaves people bandwagoning on 'Fringe' to be able to watch the show on Thursdays. :p |

Yeah, I gave up somewhere through season 3. Figured I’d wait til the series ended, gauge the quality and then maybe pick it up on DVD.
My entire problem with the series is that it relies almost entirely on mystery, which I’ve always felt is a cheap/lazy device to prolong interest. the exposition was simply too slow for me; imo its far harder to create a mysterious narrative that provides regular exposition and advancement of plot. i think if you crammed the entire series into 3-4 seasons, it would be a much stronger series (at least for me). |

I agree with you, especially about being over reliant on the mystery angle. But there has been some truly great moments, where the acting and writing rise above the weekly sitcom drivel. We've discovered quite a few "new" actors we would never have had the privilege of see in action. Lost has definitely run its course and while I'll mis it, it needs to come to an end. |
