ugh, that means we'll have to site through 40 minutes of whining and bull
At least they'll show more of Fake Locke's group and maybe we'll get some more answers about them.
I have totally forgot now but when Widmore was on the island, did he or his group ever encounter Smoke Monster?

if richard doesn't age because of jacobs 'touch' then how come little katie aged to become big katie?
It's more than just physical touching. It's not like everyone he brushed against never died. I think. :p

yeah i don't think every person jacob touches received the same gift. locke was brought back to life (after being thrown out of his father's condo). that was jacob's gift to him. interestingly, though, was sayid touched by jacob on the street corner (right before nadia gets run over)? maybe that could explain why he was brought back to life in the temple?
regarding richard i'm curious if he really was a slave or maybe he was something like the captain of the black rock and they chained him out of fear when he came to the island? dunno... i guess slave is the more likely scenario. not being racist but he is white, not black, so him being a slave wasn't my first instinct?
was nice to see ben as a "nice guy" in this past episode. did make me feel some sympathy for his character although all in all he is a horrible person.
also wasn't last night's episode the first time since the flash sideways that they eluded to people's past in the dharma initiative???
Scottaculous
with each passing episode, i'm fearing LOST will be 6 years of blueballs.
Lews
Yeah, it was the first flash sideways mention of Dharma.
I've always felt bad for Ben.
Can't wait for the Richard episode!
Not looking forward to next week. I want Sawyer and Jack to both die soon.
I don't think Richard was talking in a literal sense when he said touch like that. Not that upset about that.

I've come to terms with the fact that they're not actually going through question after question, crossing them off in a straightforward manner. I think their strategy is hinting at some of the explanations and laying down the ultimate and overarching "WHY?" revelation, form which one will retroactively infer some/most of the mythology.
Examples:
- Candidate/"Touched" Status of the Losties as a means to explain weird like inability to commit suicide/healing/how they all came to be on that Oceanic 815 flight, but not literaly addressing those issues.
- Smokey's shapeing ability explaining all the random appearances of Christian Shepard/Yemi/Alex and a bunch of other stuff
etc. etc.
No doubt, they're taking the easy way here by maintaining ambiguities and claiming it's ultimately up to the viewer to decide....

so wait, Ben and his father were with Dharma before the island sank? if so, then when was that?
also yeh Jacob = fate; letting things play out good or bad (Ben trusted fate and Alex and many others died)
Nemesis = choice; taking action and making decisions
Also, I think Alpert and the others are actually like a special set of guardians that get chosen first and then try to protect allll of the candidates until the very end of the island
"game"
ps: widmore's planning to bomb the island
anyway:
:D

these are always great (100 percent grade chang :haha: )
@trancegiant- those scenes between alex and ben made me feel 'woody allen' uncomfortable too. I thought the principle had some e-mail intercepted from alex proclaiming her love for Dr. Linus. I was relieved when it just for the yale rec.
I like the idea of Richard being on the black rock, not one I have heard before. I am pumped for the richard-centric episode in two weeks.
