heres where i get lost.. heh, obviously they brought juliette onto the island because shes able to successfully artificially inseminate people.
however, Jing immaculatly(sp?) concieved once she hit the island.
the others need children.
do you think the dharma project was a test to see how the human population would survive without being able to concieve naturally? |

Apparently, Claire is going to turn out ot be Jack's half-sister or something like that.
There are theories circulating now the the island is a black-hole. The time Juliette joined the island coincides with real-life news about black hole theories etc... One of the books that was being read in the episode was Stephen Hawking's Space and Time on a page about black holes...
But my argument to this is then how could there be any light or anything if nothing escapes from them, and what about food-drops etc... |

no one knows whats inside a blackwhole, i think the theory is it aborbs all light and lets no light escape... that doesn't mean there's no light inside. the gravitationl force on the island makes sense... but the monster smoke thing doesn't fit in anywhere in that theory.
i did mean Sun, Jing is one of my clients at work lol... mixed them up. |

Last episode really filled in some blanks for me and Julliet's involvement with the others. I'm thinking that due to the island's mysterious cure for ailments that Dharma created a research center to figure out how it all works. They had a bunch of dying people be transfered to the island for tests and whatnot. The dying people got better but they did not want to leave the island for fear they would revert back to the way they were. So instead they overtook the scientists and researchers, led by Ben, and forced them to help them(that happened 3 years ago when Juliet arrived. She is there to impregnate cancer survivors ). However, they did not know about all the individual hatches on the island and Desmond. For some reason Ben's cancer came back but Jack landed on the island giving him hope. To make the plane crash survivors more fearful of their group they pretended to be savages. They did actually help Claire and Walt. I'm thinking Walt had a brain tumor or something that is why it seemed like he had "mystical powers".
I dunno if it is right, but it seems the most logical at the moment. |

interesting. i put the question on the lost forums whether or not the people on lost are UNABLE to become pregnant due to the radiation level on the island. This would explain cancer showing up in ben and why a woman's uterus would look 70yrs old. Radiation, especially the kemo kind makes woman's organs age quicker.
Because Juliette is able to impregnate someone who is given LOADS of radiation(her sister Rachel), the others recruited her. |
